So the explanation for the polar freeze in the U.S./Canada is because of global warming?

Yeah, AGW is a completely non falsifiable theory so the alarmists can claim that global warming causes everything.

The polar vortex is a prevailing wind pattern that circles the Arctic, flowing from west to east all the way around the Earth. It normally keeps extremely cold air bottled up toward the North Pole. Occasionally, though, the vortex weakens, allowing the cold air to pour down across Canada into the U.S., or down into other regions such Eastern Europe. In addition to bringing cold, the air mass can push the jet stream the band of wind that typically flows from the Pacific Ocean across the U.S.much further south as well. If the jet stream puts up a fight, the moisture it carries can fall out as heavy snow, which atmospheric scientists say is the circumstance that caused the February 2010 “snowmageddon” storm that shut down Washington, D.C.

No. It doesn't. But AGW has very little effect on cold weather. The amount of extra hot weather will be significant. The reduction in cold weather is very small.

Ignore Ian's claims of AGW being unfalsifiable.

1. The fact that it has passed key tests, such as carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas =/= unfalsifiable

2. The fact that we have to wait for some other tests, such as what climate will be like when we run out of oil =/= unfalsifiable

3. The fact that we haven't found a better explanation for global warming than carbon dioxide =/= unfalsifiable.

And no, it is not the Sun that has been causing the warming.

Yes, it's a gradual change. At least science has a theory an explanation. Those who make things political just like to debate. They give no reasons as to why. No ideas or solutions ever.

Could!?! Climate Change: The increasing number of hurricanes is perhaps the biggest evidence of climate change induced by global warming. If the data for the last 10 years is to be believed, summers have been warmer and winters colder than usual. In fact, the period between January 2000 to December 2013 has been the warmest decade on record. The variations in global temperature are also causing droughts, floods, heat waves, cold waves, and changes in the precipitation patterns around the world.

Of course!

Everything that has ever happened in the past or may happen in the future is caused by global warming or the great & mighty omnipotent co2.

It only takes a day or so for the official Global warming cheerleaders to put the proper spin on it.

Oh, almost forgot to remind you that its all your fault.

Could have something to do with why it went so far south But it has happened before and it is winter

So according to the link below, it's so damn frosty because it was becoming so hot in North America that the warm air did a switch-a-roo with the arctic air. Right.
