What is the relationship between climate and wildfires?

For my geography homework I have to answer that question but I have completely forgotton the answer to it ive tried to research but nothing comes up please help

Wildfires are more likely in hot dry climates, particularly those that are interspersed with periods of rainfall which encourages plant growth - or in areas that has many pine trees but are now becoming hotter and dryer because of climate change.

The relationship is impossible to determine. I am sure the statists at your school are looking for you to draw the conclusion that it has got warmer recently, that that has led to more wildfires, and humans are responsible for that warming.

That is gibberish and beneath actual scientists.

In fact humans have not been very good managers of most wilderness. Fires are a natural occurrence. Our wilderness is generally adapted to withstand the fires. In fact, the fires perform a useful function by removing old dead trees and growth and removing the small undergrowth. By preventing natural fires and putting them out, humans are interfering with natural healthy functions of the forest. What happens when an forest doesn't have natural fires is that the undergrowth accumulates. Small trees crowd into the available spaces. This promotes disease and causes the forest to become less healthy. When a fire finally comes through it may destroy everything. This isn't related to warming. Suggesting that fires and pine beetles are strictly related to warming is just another alarmist lie or a revelation of their ignorance or both. You will see both in full display on YA.

Climate Change will increase moisture in the air so there will be more rain and less wildfires. Climate Change will also cause more dry air so there will be increased forest fires. Since Climate Change is both increasing moisture and increasing dryness at the same time, neither an increase or decrease in wildfires also proves Climate Change.

More wildfires = Proof of Climate Change

Less wildfires = Proof of Climate Change

The same number of wildfires = Proof of Climate Change

Well climate change has given us more worldwide drought. Because of this there has been an increase in wildfires in the western US and also Australia This is expected to be a yearly occurrence

Recently published research predicts significantly more wildfires in some areas (including the Western U.S.) and fewer wildfires in the tropics (more rain).

Other research in 2006 found a dramatic increase in fires in the Western U.S. in the 1980s attributable to the earlier arrival of Spring. It is rather common sense: in years with an early snow-melt, the fire season is longer and there are more files. And with climate change, the average date of snow-melt has already been documented as coming earlier.
