They do need to set an example. Nevertheless, while eliminating air travel will help slow down the increase of carbon dioxide, that would also eliminate the cooling effect of contrails. What is needed is not the elimination of air travel, but the use of a fuel such as biodiesel or hydrogen for our aircraft.
Do they claim that they do not fly and/or have they ever said that others should not fly?
