Considering how many humans fail to make the link between our fossil fuel use and global warming, I doubt polar bears are smart enough to do so.
Even then, you, *by yourself* aren't really the problem. If you were the only one burning petrol, the planet would barely even notice. But if *everyone* switched from your old lifestyle to your new one (or vice versa), the impact on global warming would, in fact, be significant.
No, they do not hate you. Apparently, a lot of people do the same; driving cars and making polar bears angry. One day, all polar bears will strike the Earth, and polar bears will rule it. It'll happen somewhere in 2040. It is confirmed fact.
No Edward. Berkeley (Otherwise known as Bezerkly.) did an exhaustive study on this back in the eighties. The results were: automobiles costs were 2/3rds per passenger mile as that of public transportation. That was when Diesel fuel was considerably less than the cost of gasoline. There are reasons for this. Buses have to run, even when there are no or few passengers. This cuts the passenger mile efficiency immensely.
Also the amount of CO2 you generate is based upon the amount of gasoline, not the price.
Another factor, if you met that polar bear on an iceberg, he would eat you. That is a fact if you rode your bicycle or walked or even if you drove a truck. To a bear, a greenie only tastes less delicious than a true scientist.

Erm... I don't know exactly what you mean. Polar bears don't feel emotion. If they did, they probably would, my suggestion is talking to the local Animal Whisperer.

I am 21, I got my car 18 months ago and have spent approx ￡4000 on petrol in that time, I know this as I make a note every time I put in fuel and add it on top of the previous figure.
Before I had a car I used the bus and walked a lot so in the past 18 months since driving my carbon footprint has rocketed, in another 2 years the total amount I spent and burnt in petrol will be ￡8000! so by the time I'm 30 I'd have burnt ￡22,000 in petrol into the atmosphere which in turn is melting the polar bears home, do they hate me?
