Was COP19 about climate or money?

I wouldn't necessarily call it a cave in. Our current administration is an ideological twin of China and Cuba or they are the world's stupidest negotiators or both. Just when Iran was feeling some strain from the sanctions, the idiot in chief removed them.

Obviously it is about the money. The deranged leftists who swallow the garbage from Obama are dumber than the alarmists who think we are killing the planet.... well they are generally same people anyway.

It's a political farce, governments got into AGW as they saw chances for increased control and taxes, and allowed the UN (IPCC) to research it, to better their chances to implement controls, however it all started to get out of control as the UN saw chances for world government, and then China and the third world countries saw big $ waving in front of them.

None of this is actually about climate, it is about power, control and money and it is backfiring on the western governments who started it, be sure that there will backing off and distancing by western governments (not sure about Obama though) before Paris 2015.

Well this COP19 came up with the buzz term regarding money: "loss and damage". Well actually it was started in Cancun last year by small island nations but has now become UNFCCC lexicon. I.e., it is a (proposed) monetary instrument.

The laughable part is they also want some payment now for damage which is supposed to happen in the future. Is it really beyond any reasonable person why I refuse to continue allowing any of my tax dollars to go to the UN?

Breitbart.com is arguing something along the lines of "when some one dumps waste in your backyard it would be immoral for you to ask to pay for the cleanup if THEY simply claim the opposite of the scientific consensus [1] that it is only fertilizer and not harmful.

The people who run it are not stupid, but like you, they rely on the stupidity of their readership to accept their argument without thinking it through.

Edit 1:

@ sagebrush; Of course Breitbart isn't responsible for the actions of COP19 even if he were still alive. Interesting, are you now claiming that those countries SHOULD get funding from the industrialized world to rectify the damages or did you simply fail to read for comprehension.

Edit 2:

Let me repeat Breitbart is dead and unless he is a zombie (I don't believe in those either) it is impossible for him to report anything. If you had bothered to read the article past the headline and the picture you would have noticed it was written by Larry Hart, who is the director of Government Relations, of the American Conservative Union. [2] Breitbart.com simply chose to reprint the ACU oped (rant) and removed some of the information on the author and I assume agreed with the gist of the oped.

A little further (the first chapter) the author is complaining about the money that countries that are affected by climate change are asking for and that the U.S. under an idiolog "caved in", I don't mind that he (and you) are complaining, freedom of speech is something that I treasure, However it does show that the two of you are opposed to the notion of taking responsibility for the negative externalities of your actions. There is nothing libertarian about refusing to take responsibility for your actions, I will argue that this is the very opposite of libertarianism. [3] Then again what do we expect from some one who makes idiotic claims like "justice and equality are code words for communism" both of which are empirical in a libertarian society.

Ironically Cuba, one of the two nations the author complains about as being greedy, was one of the first nations that offered substantial humanitarian help after hurricane Katrina, however their offer was reject by the US government of the time for ideological reasons. [4]

And if you managed to read this far (sorry no pictures), we both know you are lying when you say you feel sorry for me.

well the author is ultra conservative and this is his personal website. You can bet he cherry picked what he wanted to air to get people thinking his way.

Everything is about money but you over look big oil with trillions in income, hundreds of billions in tax breaks and God knows how much in investor tax savings You always shy away from how much goes into their pockets

Money the Climate part is the scare tactic .

How are they going to prove 'Loss and Damage " when their

is no evidence of Global Warming causing so called

extreme weather .

Money ..... of course!

The Hippy, Climate Alarmists are hoping to fill their feed-troughs with hard-earned, taxpayer dollars.

People get into Global issues to be statists and for the money.

I doubt that people would call the Heating and Air Companies because their thermostat was off 0.8C.

Well, now it would be off less than 0.5C.

Sure. The blogs you link to never lie.
