He appears to be wrong. Satellite measurements of solar radiation show that the solar radiation reaching Earth has declined slightly over the last 30 years – yet the Earth still warmed. Also, the graph of solar irradiance from 1880 to the present as measured from the earth and later by satellite shows that the Sun’s intensity increased slightly from 1880 to 1960 and then has declined slightly since 1960.
Svenmark's theory claims that a quieter sun increases the number of cosmic rays from the stars that strike the Earth. That would lead to more clouds since cosmic rays produce charged particles in the atmosphere that seed clouds. It’s an interesting theory, but there is no data showing that the number of cosmic rays are actually increasing cloud cover. Also, there are plenty of particulates in the air to seed clouds and any effect from cosmic rays would be small in comparison.

I don't know I would go as far as say cooling at this point, but clearly the models are unreliable and that is all alarmism has to hang their hats on. Many are desperately clinging to the hope that the heat is hiding somewhere and will be discovered soon before the cause is lost.

I think he is correct but perhaps for not all the right reasons, he maintains that a quieter sun allows more cosmic rays to reach Earth which seeds clouds, hence more clouds more albedo, while undoubtedly this is correct, I feel this is only part of the picture, the collapse of thermosphere in 2008/9 is a sign that something else is going on, perhaps something to do with EUV and it's effect on ozone in the thermosphere. it is known that EUV alters much more than TSI through solar cycles.
It is an area of science that we are still not that certain about.
Don't worry, the true believers will tell us that the current years are some of the warmest on record, not realizing the failure of basic math exhibited therein.
Our Arctic ice was the smallest it's ever been in 2012. Greenland continues to gain more and more lakes on top of it due to warming. This past November was the hottest November ever. Where's this so called "cooling"?
