Global warming is the rise in the earths climate

It's main cause is human activity, and the amount of Fossil Fuels Carbon Dioxide. Greenhouse gases basically absorbed the sun light and makes the temperature rise :)

Eg. Cars/Electricity burns loads of greenhouse gases, also as the population increases Carbon also has a big affect to Climate Change.

Scientifically 'Global Warming' has never been clearly defined. At what point does this disastrous 'Global Warming' kick in?

This is the longest continual actual temperature recording in history, that we know of. It track with the 1990 IPCC report on page 202 which has a graph that basically displays this same increase in temperature. And as far as 0.87 degrees in 353 years, does that really constitute a danger to the earth?

As you can see from some of the definitions that Global Warming is the unnatural warming caused by man's creating CO2. But is this scientifically true? If we go back in history we will see that many of these same scientists who are touting CO2 as an unnatural cause for the warming of the Earth were claiming that CO2 was going to cause an Ice Age.

Life magazine of January 30, 1970, stated: “Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support . . . predictions” such as: “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution,” and “increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will affect earth’s temperature, leading to mass flooding or a new ice age.”

One of the scientists to say this was James Hansen a recently retired head of GISS and now a communist advocate. So you can see Global Warming is a political reality and a scientific bust. Even the greenies admit it.

Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. This is a type of greenhouse effect.

The most significant greenhouse gas is actually water vapor, not something produced directly by humankind in significant amounts. However, even slight increases in atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) can cause a substantial increase in temperature.

Why is this? There are two reasons: First, although the concentrations of these gases are not nearly as large as that of oxygen and nitrogen (the main constituents of the atmosphere), neither oxygen or nitrogen are greenhouse gases. This is because neither has more than two atoms per molecule (i.e. their molecular forms are O2 and N2, respectively), and so they lack the internal vibrational modes that molecules with more than two atoms have. Both water and CO2, for example, have these "internal vibrational modes", and these vibrational modes can absorb and reradiate infrared radiation, which causes the greenhouse effect.

Secondly, CO2 tends to remain in the atmosphere for a very long time (time scales in the hundreds of years). Water vapor, on the other hand, can easily condense or evaporate, depending on local conditions. Water vapor levels therefore tend to adjust quickly to the prevailing conditions, such that the energy flows from the Sun and re-radiation from the Earth achieve a balance. CO2 tends to remain fairly constant and therefore behave as a controlling factor, rather than a reacting factor. More CO2 means that the balance occurs at higher temperatures and water vapor levels.

Carbon dioxide and other air pollution that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun's heat and causing the planet to warm up. Coal-burning power plants are the largest U.S. source of carbon dioxide pollution -- they produce 2.5 billion tons every year. Automobiles, the second largest source, create nearly 1.5 billion tons of CO2 annually.

It's a political philosophy and agenda which should have no place in a school so called 'science' class. I would like to say that your teacher should be ashamed to peddle this crap to young minds, but in reality he is probably being forced to, so it's a shame for him too.
