PLEASE HELP what is global warming ? In you're opinion don't search the web for answers i want to know you're own opinion on what global warming is.

Until recently, Global Warming was the constant increase in global average surface temperature anomaly. The warmists always start their graphs after the Little Ice Age which was the coldest point in the last few thousand years. See this for a more representative sample:

When the temperatures stopped increasing the warmists moved the goal posts. The science still says that CO2 warms the air but this no longer results in an increase in temperature, it seems. That has never been properly explained in my opinion.

The International Standard Atmosphere (ISA) defines the average temperature at sea level on earth to be 15 degrees Celsius. In the past years, we have seen that it increases especially in the northern part of the northern hemisphere. Is it due to a normal climatic cycle or is it the result of our consumption of fossil fuel? Perhaps both.

What is worth noting, though, is that, if it warms up mostly where most releases of carbon dioxide happens, it makes sense that some of it is man-made.

Will it lead to more dramatic weather? Well it works both ways. The weather is all about the thermodynamic effects of air masses with different moisture, pressure and temperature. The greater the difference, the stronger the weather. This is why, for example, most storms at mid-latitudes happen during the fall and winter, when the polar region is very cold. The difference of temperature with the Inter-Tropical Convergency Zone (ITCZ) is then great and the polar front is more intense.

So, if only the polar regions warm up, there will be less difference, hence milder weather. On the other hand, warmer air means, more moisture in the air. At 15 C, a cubic meter of air can't contain more than about 13 grams of water. But at 30 C, it is up to about 32 grams!

So, warmer atmosphere means, more moisture in the air and moisture it the fuel of bad weather because moist air that condenses releases latent heat energy and that keeps the air buoyant, thus decreasing even further the pressure and causing stronger wind.

On the other hand, more moisture in the air means, more clouds and more albedo to our atmosphere. For example, only half of the sun's energy reaches the ground. The rest is stopped by the reflecting (albedo) effect of the clouds, the snow and, partly, by the ozone layer.

So, what will be the result of a global warming? We don't really know and that, in itself, is worrying enough, don't you think?

I am a top contributor to the "weather" section as I teach meteorology to aviators at my club and has done it for many years (I am 65 years old). I am always amazed to see people with definitive answers like: "NO! IT IS A HOAX!" It is nice to be politically motivated but ... the weather is more than a Democrat vs. Republican question. The world is greater than the USA! ;-)

I'm a civilian known to my Global Teams from all walks of life as Global Command and We Found that Global Warming was an ALIEN Organism thats was implemented in a large cave underground in a no- fly zone. We also know the only way to corrolate this exact position that only weakens the ozone to only melt all ICED areas is from outside Earths ozone. At dawn's first light a narrow bean activated and widened into the full size of daylight on a large farming area to weaken the ozone. When my Teams shut down global warming to run my experiments, thats when they found it was alive/ Alien organism. Each time they shut it down, my Teams in all ICED areas noted that freshwater from melted Glaciers and Glaciers stopped melting and immediately froze on each shut down/ This is how we knew that we found the exact location of Global Warming. Ex-President Bush told everyone that it was the environment, but I proved him wrong in 2008 and I proved it to 350 million people and all the scientists that bush hired. My Global teams were being fired upon, so I pulled them out and gave them my Global solution to lower all oceans around their continents to see if we can slow or stop dry land from ending up in the oceans. From 2008 to 2011 They saved 1,7 miles of dry land on all land masses. In 2012 I sent the hostile continent my triple Output solution's Embassy to feed their people more and at the same time turn off Global Warming. Between July and 11/28/2012 Global Warming ceased to exist and all season's have returned to normal naturally so all new born species would survive. Mike

I do not have an opinion on global warming. Science does not work by opinion. The evidence is quite clear that it is due to more greenhouse gases. This was formulated more than 100 years ago and the laws of physics have not changed. Now we do have more data and computers to analyze it.

I do have an opinion- Maxx is delusional. There are still people who deny the moon landings occurred, so there is little hope of reason for deniers.

On my understanding it is increasing global mean surface air temperature, principally on 'climatic' timescales of approximately 30 years, which has been happening for over 100 years and is almost certain to continue for over another 100.

It's the theory that man is mainly responsible for any supposed warming of the planet. It has now evolved into the theory that all unusual weather is caused by or made worse by man made CO2. It is an unfalsifiable theory and therefore should be classified as a religious belief.

Always the heat from sun will reflect back to the space by the Earth's surface. Now a days due to pollution, the Earth's surface cant reflect the heat, so that the heat stays on the Earth's surface and increase the Earth's temperature. Results in melting of polar ice caps.

It is the expected temperature increase of the planet due to additional heat being prevented from radiating into outer space by the rising concentration of CO2 in the air due to people burning coal, oil, and natural gas.

It's an enormous political HOAX. An excuse by government to tax us more and destroy our liberties. It's NOT happening.

But please bear in mind that the debate is about "man-made" Global Warning --- not global warming. It's true there has been a little natural warming over the last several decades but it was NOT caused by human activity.

Man-made Global Warming advocates have no empirical science to back their claim. And their advocacy movement has been mired in scandal since its beginning. Here are some things you should know:

1) The Earth has been both much warmer and much colder in the distant past, long before the industrial age. Climate is indeed changing, but it has always changed and probably always will. These are obviously natural cycles that man does not and cannot control.

2) Global Warming alarmists have been caught in one lie after another. Huge scandals have been continuously revealed since the early 1980’s when the campaign began. Some of these are listed below:

3) Al Gore’s movie "An Inconvenient Truth" was full of bald faced lies. Like the Polar Bears were drowning, or the Ice Caps were melting, or the oceans were rising --- all lies. In fact a court of England ruled the movie was so flawed that it could not be shown to school children without a disclaimer.

4) The ClimateGate affair exposed the utter corruption of the Warmist community with their exposed emails speaking of how they intended to “hide the decline” and how to manipulate data and the peer-review process in their favor.

5) Then there is the fact that the globe isn’t even warming anymore and the small amount of warming experienced from the 1900’s to 2013 timeframe was negligible and well within the envelope of normal.

6) During this same period of marginal warming, scientists also noticed that other planets in our solar system were warming. What do these planets have in common ? --- the Sun.

7) Phil Jones, head of the Climatic Research Unit, the Guru and High Priest of Global Warming himself admitted there has been no statistically significant warming. If anyone on the planet would have been aware of statistically significant warming it would have been Phil Jones and he admitted there has been none. (Game Over)

8) Warmists like Al Gore refuse to engage in any formal debate on the issue. That’s because on the few occasions Warmist have debated openly, they lose, and they lose big. Lord Monckton utterly destroys them time and time again.

9) Al Gore and other Warmists have stated clearly that they want to make CO2 the object of a global tax. CO2 is the perfect object for their revenue purposes because you literally cannot live without making CO2, after all, we exhale it. And good science has revealed that no correlation exist to show CO2 drives warming. Demonizing CO2 is all about the tax dollars, and that’s all its about.
