The next ice age is coming relatively soon, probably within 2000 years.

We are currently in an ice age that began 2.6 million years ago. It appears that humans have only been around for about 10,000 years so all we've ever known as a species is this ice age. Moreover, the ice has been generally receding for the last 20,000 years. Geologically speaking we have not yet met the global temps experienced during the last interglacial period 125,000 years ago. So it's very likely the earth will continue to get much warmer in the next few thousand years (regardless of what man does). Moreover we are due for warm period (a non-ice age) similar to the time of the dinosaurs when there was no ice on the planet.
yes, it's part of the milankovitch orbital cycles. several tens of thousands of years in the future. There has never been an ice age with the current concentration of greenhouse gases.
Extinct, not likely. Humanity has survived many ice ages, including the Neanderthals more than 100,000 years ago. In any case, the ice does not reach the tropics. It's not likely that all 7 Billion people will survive though, a mile of ice over Chicago can really ruin your day.

When will the next ice age onset? Not sure. Speaking in geological timeframes we are due NOW. Interglacial periods normally last 10,000 - 12,000 years. We are more than 11,000 years into this interglacial period. The math is easy from there.
When we know what causes the glacial and interglacial periods we will be better able to predict them. Does what is happening to the sun now cause them? (We have never seen it do this before) If so then we are on the cusp of one now. Simple answer is we do not know. When it happens we'll know and we'll have a better idea of what at least one cause for it woud be.

Extinct? Doubt it. Cooler temps may happen sooner than you think depending on where you live. It looks like the AMO and the PDO are both going into a negative phase. If that's true, then you will see oil prices dropping profusely. It seems as if they see this coming already.

Yes, We are in an interglacial now, and have been for longer than average, so any time from now to 10000yrs we are likely to have and ice age.
Man's ancestors lived through an ice age, so there is no reason to believe we cant.

I'm sure there will be, but it won't sneak-up on use - It will be slowly coming for a hunderd years or so. Weather humanity lives thru it or just leaves for awhile, don't know yet.
