There have been no environmental changes in Canada or anywhere else because there is NO **man-made** Global Warming and there has never been any.
What global warming? It's been cooling for at least 12 years according to HadCrut3 & HadCrut4 is nearly flat. http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/hadcrut...
According to RSS Satellite data there has been no warming for more than 18 years.
Let's see. I live in Northern Ontario Canada. The temperature hasn't changed, is anything it is getting colder earlier in the year. That means higher fuel costs to heat our houses or higher hydro bills if you have electric heat. Summers are shorter and colder and wetter. Air conditioning sales are down, so you save hydro costs there. There is more snow, so the costs of removing it cause the city to raise taxes so people are barely able to afford to live in their homes. Actually, it is kind of hard to convince people who live in the north that any warmth is coming.
Rising sea levels threatening coastal cities.
Less snow in the Rockies, hurting tourism and ski resorts.
The prairies are getting warmer, and actually this is a good thing for Canada. The US is losing good farmland, Canada is gaining it.
And you can now sail across the north of Canada, the long-sought Northwest Passage. 8^)
Permafrost is thawing
Extent of permanent Arctic pack ice is shrinking
Thickness of permanent sea ice is becoming thinner
Greater extremes in in weather include temperature, amounts of precipitation.
Polar bears remaining on land for a longer period of time
Arctic geese nesting in more inland areas causing deforestation
Increased agriculture from more growing days.
Less deaths from hypothermia
Reduced heating costs
permafrost changes and release of more methane
less frequent winter cold temperatures leading to greater forest infestation of pine beetles
changes in arctic ice cover leading to more shipping and resource extraction
increased air conditioning costs
changes in precipitation patterns.
it's a meaningless band wagon
yes
what are some (at least 3) environmental changes in canada because of global warming?
