Have you seen the latest scare regarding global warming?

Now it is LIGHTNING!

Yeah i heard about it on radio 4's climate propaganda, ohh it sounds scary, more lightening due to increased warming, now if it had only actually gotten any warmer during the last 18 years they might have found another scary lie.

Wakey wakey Gringo, Earth calling, we get it from places like the UK Met office and east Anglia Uni and many other pro warmer organisations which have been forced to grudgingly admit this fact. Or are just in total denial when the facts don't fit your political endgame.

Interesting reading but ... we know that there are more thunderstorms in the inter-tropical convergence zone than over the poles. Why is that? Well, over the poles the cold air rises perhaps only 12 km before reaching the tropopause that is perhaps -40 C. But between the tropics the warm air rises up to 18 or 20 km to a very cold -80 C.

We know that the weather is all about the thermodynamic effects of air masses with different temperature, pressure and moisture. The greater the difference, the stronger the weather!

Now, the articles talks about the convective available potential energy (CAPE). That is, indeed, the indicator of unstable air masses and the possibility to see thunderstorms developing but ...

If we observe an increase of the global temperature, is it only at ground level? Or is it also all the way through the tropopsphere? If it is at ground level, the CAPE will be greater but ... the average adiabatic lapse rate on earth is 0.65 C per 100 meters and that is exactly the reason the tropopause, being higher, is also much colder over the tropics. So, how is the temperature changing at the tropopause? Is it also getting warmer? If so, the difference shown in the CAPE won't change, right?

This is something I have asked meteorologists in the past and never got another answer than. "It is more complicated than that!" Okay, but can someome explain to me how the global temperature increases only at ground level?

Yeah, we didn't have the baby lightning in South Dakota. Those bolts were bigger than any I have seen anywhere else. I remember in Georgia once, they had these little bolts going off everywhere. Frankly, they were far more scary. It was like comparing a flock of canaries to a Golden Eagle. I think some of those bolts I seen in the Dakotas could vaporize me.

They are predicting that CO2 is causing both more droughts and more bolts. These climate clowns can't make up their minds. It is junk science at its worst.

Yeah, I read about it a few days ago. There are 2 parts to the question.

1. Is the world warming? We're not going to agree.

2. Would warming cause more lightning? Yes it would.

Rain and storms often form around cumulus clouds.

Cumulus clouds form above thermals - rising columns of hot air.

If the ground is hotter, the thermals will be more numerous and stronger.

So you will get more rain and more lightning if there is global warming.

Scared of lightning now, Sagebrush?

I really wonder where Pindar and Kano get their data from regarding their "no warming in 18 years" claim.

The Really sad thing is that we Taxpayers probably had to shell out a pile of our money to pay for that "Study".

Well all these different phenomenon are linked to temperature not CO2, and as you know the temperature is not rising and hasn't for 18yrs now.

easier to deny

It was horrible
