Thinner? No, that's bad. Atmosphere protects us from deadly space radiation such as the killer Ultraviolet C, which would wipe out all life at higher doses. And thinner air can't hold as much oxygen. Or cloud cover which keeps nights warmer. ETC. What made you think this thought??

Why do you want to fool with mother nature? You can't control the temperature, and no man can. That is a proven fact. If you have something out there that we don't know about, let us know.

Our atmosphere is 1 bar. If we made it like 0.90 bar it would be thinner and we would have a reduced greenhouse effect. So why not do that?
