Well firstly there is no "belief" needed. There is evidence (facts) that show that the Earth's global surface air temperature is warming. This is measurable fact ... you can argue the extent, but the trend (which is measured over a minimum 30 year period) shows the world's average annual temperature is rising.
You could perhaps question the conclusion that humans are having a net effect on this warming trend. Again however the reason why so many people reach the conclusion that humans are having a net effect is because of evidence. To dismiss the scientific theory of anthropogenic global warming (that is that humans are causing the warming) only one, that's right one single piece of evidence is needed that proves otherwise. Currently no such evidence has been presented therefore the theory and "belief" remains. This is the basic premise of science.

While it's interesting to watch deniers reveal their particular motives , ranting about agenda's and brainwashing etc often you also find references to communists and greens and of course Gore.
Deniers beliefs! are based on what a host of excuses from blogs that are fairly obviously aim at their preexisting prejudices like those listed above, playing them like banjo's
AGW is based on science, science with a vast amount of data and research to back it up, go to any science site and see for yourself you won't find any of the nonsense denier peddle because it isn't science. Deniers will rant about the hockeystick being disproved or the climategate emails or large volumes of data they claim has been shown to be wrong, but it is all just hot air, none of these claims is true.
Ask them to prove any of these claims and all you get is more blogs, because they have no real proof.
Another popular claim repeated here quite often, is none of the predictions have happened or we are below the predictions. Certainly so estimates where wrong, but often not in ways that work for the denier cause, the original estimate of Arctic sea ice loss (in Summer) was for ~2100 that has proved to be an under estimation as it now looks likely to be ice free in Summer by ~2030. Sea level rise is also pretty much near the mid level estimates of where it should be so we have fallen below nothing there either.
The fact is most estimates are either on track or happening faster than was estimated.
The one exception is Antarctica, but even there the estimates where never that clear there was considerable thought that initial melting of glacial ice (which is melting) might slow or even stop the melt of Antarctic sea ice, as cold (fresh) water is added to the surrounding salt water, fresh water freezes more easily that salt water. Several other effects are also at play with Antarctic sea ice, but this is just one thing out of many, when deniers claim "all the predictions have not happened" when clearly most have happened, just as estimated some even faster then estimated.
In the science community there is now no real doubt AGW is happen and that we are the cause.
