The greens stopped dams . They stopped back burning & land clearing which has made the fires worst & killed the animals but they sleep at night blaming climate change .

Lots of factors affecting the weather in Oz - climate change? No it has a lot to do with the Ocean Temperature which is cyclic in its nature and currently described as the El Nino or El Nina?? effect which in turns affects the 'WET SEASON' or 'MONSOON' SEASON in the tropic zone and this creates extreme LOW PRESSURE areas such as CYCLONES and TORNADO and lots of RAIN.
OTHER FACTORS COMMONLY OVERLOOKED is the earth's axis 'wobbling'.. 'x' degrees and I think this is a 22.5 year cycle or 11.25 years for a positive or negative half cycle. This 'tilt affect' is what causes the Summer and Winter SOLSTICE - so there are many variable 'cyclic' factors coming into play - the least of what I agree to is 'climate change' due CO2... but a good reason to add another TAX.
I would suggest that the flooding is probably due more to seasonal rainfall, and poor flood mitigation strategies.
A risk highlighted for Queensland is increased "extreme" rainfall events and flood risks. So, I think the current flooding more highlights the need for the government and residents to prepare and adequately mitigate such flood risks in the future.
Edit: Lone, regarding Agenda 21. Dams typically are used in Australia for water supply purposes instead of flood mitigation. The problem with dams (in Australia) is that they need to be released during flood events anyway (e.g. the Toowoomba floods a few years back). A better strategy for flood mitigation would be either levees that direct the flood waters away from key infrastructure (such as channels and/or flood out paddocks only).
The reduction in land clearing will assist in flood mitigation (to a small effect), as trees will decrease surface runoff and increase infiltration.
The reduction in prescribed burns has more to do with public pressure than "greenies". I worked for a state agency that carried out prescribed burns. The biggest opposition and concern regarding prescribed burns always came from neighbours to the bush and the public (the "greenies" were largely ignored as the science didn't support their view). The public however had sway with politicians and political pressure needs no scientific justification.
Sorry, we don't talk about single events here. We discuss long term trends and matching real data to climate model projections. I see none of that in your video or your question.

But just to answer your question anyways, I'd say that what's causing flooding in Queensland, Australia is the same thing that caused drought there last year. It's a "cause of all trades" (you know what, this sarcasm thing is fun!).
