I think they just mean teragrams (trillions of grams). It would not make sense to say teragrams per second per year, unless they were talking about a change in the rate.
Hmm most modern coal fired power plants have flu gas desulferation plants (fgd) and dont give off any sulfur, I know I have commisioned them.

It is a misunderstanding, in my view.
Tg will be teragrams, that is 1 million million grams.
"S" ought to mean siemens which is the reciprocal of ohms (i.e. 1/resistance).

The wiki "?" articles should have said Tg S per year or Tg S/yr. It means teragrams of sulfur per year. So Tg N/yr means teragrams of nitrogen per year.
I read that "approximately 75 Tg/S per year of sulfur dioxide is released from burning coal"
