I live in nj is the coolness this year a result of a slow climate change or are we just having a cold year?

Is the coolness this year a result of a slow climate change or are we just having a cold year?

We are just having a cold year, and climate change is a money carbon credit scam.

There have been some very persistent weather patterns this year, which have much of the eastern US colder than normal and much of the western US warmer. For example where I live, until yesterday we had 101 consecutive days with above normal temperatures. Yesterday was finally cooler than normal.

While the persistent weather pattern that caused your coolness and our warmth may be a symptom of climate change, it also may just be an unusual year. It's hard to point to short-term weather phenomena and say "That was caused by climate change", the changes are easier to see over a period of decades or centuries.

Pegminer has a good answer.

One might keep in mind that, concerning GLOBAL warming, NJ is not the world.

In fact, I believe 2014 is on track to be at least one of the warmest years ever measured.

So, no, it's not a "sign".

Other than the weather seems to be a bit more variable than usual.

Sigh, it's an indication of higher variability which could be from climate change. You have to be pretty simple minded to think a local cooling is an indication of global cooling.

No Climate Change, according to some, is a change that lasts thirty years or more. But it does give proof that the Earth isn't warming, as Al Gore claims.

It is the start of a long term cooling period, not every year will be cooler but the long term trend for the next 30yrs at least is going to be colder, because of the sun settling into a minimum phase.

It's called "natural climate variability" and 99.99% of all climate changes are natural (If you think that humans are natural, then that percentage rises dramatically to 100%).

As any alarmist will tell you the weather in NJ is LOCAL and is WEATHER.

A twister in Nebraska is CLIMATE and is GLOBAL,
