Is there a mini ice age on the way ?

We know there has been no global warming for the last 17 years . The IPCC have agreed there hasn't .

So now could there be a ice age on the way

Who knows, as you have already seen my reasons for the climate, repeated below. I would say it is possibly unlikely, but, with erupting volcanoes in the Caribbean, and under the Arctic ice cap, growing new islands, plus the ever erupting ones in the Galapagos and Hawai'i, the slight ocean warming may continue, but, it may also slow down if the pressure on the magma chambers reduces, and who can predict that? All explained by my previous answer!

CO2 has no measurable effect on the climate!. If anyone watched the recent series presented by Professor Brian Cox on the Solar system, and you knew anything about astronomy, you would see that the weather on Earth is affected by gravity, in exactly the same way as Io, a moon of Jupiter, is affected. Io is a solid lump of rock the same size as our moon, that due to gravitational forces, liquefies and causes volcanoes. The same applies to one of the moons of Saturn, the name of which I missed. EXACTLY the same forces that are causing the increased volcanic and earthquake activity here on Earth in the past 20 or so years due to the line up of the major planets and the Sun.

History and the pattern of climate change tells us an ice epoch is already with us an ice is innevitable because of the way the earth is kept warm through fissures on the sea floor fluctuating in numbers within a sort of rhythm cased by a number of things such as the pull of moon and sun and the pressure the snow on the Antartic causes that continent to be pulled into the crust through gravity.

because the crust is mallable the gasses caused within the earth because of the pressure bubble out into the oceans and that is how climates are fluctuated between warm periods like now and ice ages as we had not that long ago. the ice always comes back but there are many other causes so climates can be warmed through a combination of factors then the Ice will grow because of extra warmth and moisture which is churned into colder regions etc there are several patterns involved as you an see The ironic part is may be all those peole living in freezing winters would prefer it a bit warmer it is the heat which scares Australians

The earth is just going through it's natural functions.

I hope the calamity howlers don't start the Ice Age business again.

Life magazine of January 3, 1970, stated: “Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support . . . predictions” such as: “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution,” and “increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will affect earth’s temperature, leading to mass flooding or a new ice age.”

According to the 1990 IPCC report, the previous Ice Age bottomed out in 1650. According to the same report we were in a period of AGW by 1990. The difference of earth's temperature from1650 to 1990 was 0.7 degrees C. You can't control your room's temperature that close, but when the earth changes that much it is considered a disaster by some.

Quote by Martin Keeley, geology scientist: “Global warming is indeed a scam, perpetrated by scientists with vested interests, but in need of crash courses in geology, logic and the philosophy of science.”

We don't really know, for sure with the way the sun is now, the next decade is going to be cooler, but we are in uncharted areas here, we don't know enough about Solar cycles, we know ice ages have warm periods between which last about 11 or 12 thousand years, and we are over due for the next one.

So it could be a cool decade, a Dalton type minimum, a Maunder minimum, or even the big one.

What is reassuring is we know ice sheets at the poles magnify climate changes by increasing albedo, but with our technology it shouldn't be too hard to produce soot or something that nullifies the effect.

Mini ice age right now in Scotland, thanks very much.

Spring Equinox not far off, minus 2, a wicked east wind and 6 inches of snow.

I doubt it. Temperatures don't look like they are trending alarmingly in any direction.

If the IPCC were to admit that Earth stopped warming, it would wait for Earth to actually stop warming. Even the supposedly cold years, 2008 and 2011 were warmer than 1995.

I've read several opinions from different sides of this argument. I think it's likely it's going to happen but I don't believe anyone can accurately predict exactly when.

i think yes
