Geography questions?

limate is what you expect, weather is what you get.

Climate is a statistic, an average or expectation for example. This is calculated over many years and generally over large geographic region. Weather is at a specific time and location.

when traveling, airlines need to know weather- avoiding thunderstorms for example(weather). People need to know what clothes to wear- leaving winter stuff at home when going to the tropics for example(climate)

Weather is how current conditions are and will change, where as climate is the normal condition of things. Example Thunderstorms, are an example of weather, humidity is the normal condition for areas in south America.

Climate is nothing more than the AVERAGE of weather.

Someone said, when you go on vacation to some tropical resort, climate is what you hope for but weather is what you get.

-----------------------

Weather: Hey, it's raining.

Climate: When it rains, How much it rains, and so forth.

Many people use the terms weather and climate interchangeably. What is weather? (Give an example.) What is climate? (Give an example.) Compare/contrast the two. When traveling to an area of the world when would you be concerned about weather? When would you be concerned about climate?

There are three main causes of precipitation: 1) convection, 2) orographic uplift, and 3) frontal uplift. Explain each (in your own words) and give unique examples of where each cause can be encountered around the world.
