My response to the other question:

Maybe, maybe not. I thought that it was skeptics who didn't believe computer models.

The Holocene Maximum had everything to do with the last ice age. It was the point of minimum glacial extent.

If a true "tipping point" has been passed then by the strict reading of their theory, there is NOTHING that can be done to stop it or mitigate it. Its simply too late. This being said it goes beyond reason and is completely outside of logic to throw nay resources at attempting to fix a problem that can NOT be fixed.

anyone with logic or reason would then shift ALL resources that they have available to deal with other issue for which they may be able to have a positive impact.

You underestimate the ability of people to procrastinate and put off some unpleasant job until forced to do it. And that in my opinion is why some people deny it; it is easier to not believe it exists than to take the action needed to stop doing the damage we are still causing. It is easier to spend your money on nice cars and vacations and not worry about saving for retirement until you find yourself near retirement age with no savings, which is exactly what so many people do.

We might be able to slow it down enough to minimize the human suffering while adapting and who knows, we might come up with something we hadn't thought of yet.
