How sensitive is our climate?

Posted at: 2015-03-12
It is an interesting collection of statistics. It seems that our climate has a thermostat of sorts to resist the high sensitivity that alarmism requires. I am sure they roll their eyes at the ignorance of us skeptics who refuse to just believe. Clearly recent temperatures haven't followed CO2 concentrations very well and you could probably extend that statement to not so recent temperatures as well. IMO, the ocean moderates all changes and perhaps there are other moderating mechanisms as well. I say this as an observer from the outside and how it appears to me. I am not an expert, just an interested observer.

Note: I was surprised at the scale of El Chichon eruption and had to look it up.

Interestingly it had quite a lot of sulfur and that explained why it was bigger than Pinatubo

There has been a good deal of volcanic activity in the world of late, google it as a cause of temporary mitigation for warming. Unfortunately, the volcanic particles leave the atmosphere in a few years. Volcanic activity caused the Year Without a Summer in the 19th century. What I always wonder is if the supervolcano under yellowstone will blow. fascinating but terrifying.

i presume you have studied the Mauna Loa observatory's other charts, especially the worrying one showing that last year, we went over 400 parts per million of CO2 in the atmosphere since prehistoric times.

Stephanie - You linked to Peter Gleick. KNOW THAT Peter Gleick is a self-admitted thief and liar who should have gone to jail for his criminal actions against Heartland Institute. http://heartland.org/press-releases/2012...

Here we have Peter Gleick cropping a photo to try and make people think that man-made Global Warming is melting traffic lights, as ridiculous as that is. He crops a photo so you don't see the car fire below the traffic light that melted it. http://joannenova.com.au/2013/07/peter-g...

Peter Gleick is a crook and a disgrace. Don't even think about believing a word he says.

Haven't you been paying attention. The chart is clearly flawed, as everyone knows we have been having more volcanos than before. Stephanie highlighted it for you.

Perhaps volcanoes themselves are caused by global warming to cool the planet.

The AGW cultists will claim that AGW is causing volcanoes to erupt which is what is cooling the earth.

Remember when AGW cultists blamed china for the pause in global warming?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/04...

If china's massive pollution from coal burning is stopping global warming then why are the AGW cultists not demanding that the rest of the world burn as much coal as we possibly can to cool the planet. According to some of them the solution is at our fingertips. Cool the planet and prevent more hookers from standing on street corners.

All co2, gases, carbon monixide, smoke that rise into the upper atmosphere is separated by Earth's environment so the suns rays can warm earth to grow plants as it rotates. Plants give food and oxygen so all species can survive. Global Warming ended in 2012, confirmed by our Satelite reports 11/28/2012 that ICE accumulation has started on different parts of earth. All 4 seasons have returned to normally naturally. GET USED TO IT. Mike

It is said that a doubling of CO2 will cause an increase in 3.7Wm2 whereas the El Chichon volcano caused a blocking of approx 40WM2 and Pinatubo 30WM2 over 2 and 3 yrs respectively

At Mauna Loa we have a clear example of a measured decrease of 7 W/m2 in the average incoming solar energy for five years (1982-1987), and a decrease of 14 W/m2 for 3 years (1991-1994)

But temperature records at Mauna Loa show hardly any changes at all, how come?
