It wouldn't be whole industries, it would be companies within industries that don't adapt. Energy companies are already diversified and already own the connections to homes and businesses. So energy companies that advance co2 sequestration in coal plants and/or move to more renewable energy sources would defeat companies that remain tied to 19th Century technologies.
One industry that might see its growth diminished is cement production which currently adds 5% of CO2 emissions. (Not many people know this: the cement industry is responsible for more CO2 than airplanes.). But even there, companies that develop modern products will grow and those who don't will die. So far, the one company that has developed carbon-negative cement, which could be a huge societal benefit, has failed to get a foothold. As long as people don't care, we will remain with old technology.
well, there's oil industry legend and BP capital management chairman T Boone Pickens, but he's the only one i can think of offhand, it's interesting what he says about it not being a problem he really has to worry about because he'll be dead soon anyway.

If AGW was to be completely accepted and the cause was CO2, just bend over and take in the shorts. It would give every government license to steal our properties, both private and industrial. And if you think our present governments wouldn't jump at the chance, just look at the rancher Bundy out in Nevada situation. All of this over a sand turtle.
Australia went for this and backed out real quickly. It didn't take them long to figure out that they were being robbed by the robber barons of the world.
It only stands to reason all businesses would be affected by the acceptance. No one would escape the jaws of greenie justice.

You can clearly see that this concocted scheme makes 'humanity' the culprit. Thus those in power can select which part of 'humanity' gets eliminated.
