Why did global cooling start?

Posted at: 2015-03-12
There is no global cooling We just had the warmest decade on record and 2013 is shaping up to be in or near the top ten warmest years.

You skeptics are so gullible and easily led around by your noses. Next you will tell us you saw Elvis at Arbys

Ah now ... make up your minds. First it was warming, but that was part of 'a cycle' or 'a natural cause' and not human related. Then the deniers changed their tune, suddenly deciding the scientists weren't lying to them when the *surface* temperature records showed little change over 17 years. And they all started talking about 'the pause' in warming. Now, they're telling us it's cooling ... what? After less than a year? How can it be a pause but cooling? And when did ye all decide this?

There is no cooling. If there is, it's because it's winter. The planet, as a whole, is getting warmer. The skeptics and deniers conveniently 'forget' about the oceans. And if they bothered to actually look at a map of the world they'd see lots of blue bits which would suggest they're hardly insignificant. Why do they do this? Because they cherry-pick the bits of science they like, ignore the bits they don't, and then, unsurprisingly, manage to weave the bits they liked into an 'argument' that miraculously supports the view they already had when they started cherry-picking in the first place.

Over 90 percent of the overall extra heat goes into the oceans, with only about 2 percent heating the Earth's atmosphere. The myth of the 'pause' is based on ignoring 98 percent of global warming and focusing exclusively on the one bit that's slowed.

a slowdown of warming is not cooling. The sun's variation is a minor component of the energy budget, the greenhouse effect has not gone away. The PDO Kano is referring to is just sloshing the increasing heat from one place to another.

There is no cooling and there is not likely to be with the increasing greenhouse gases. The oceans are still heating, glaciers are still melting and the changed climate is producing weirder weather..

Kano has it right. The most recent global warming as a "perfect storm" of natural cycles converging. All of those same cycles are converging again, but in the opposite direction.

solar Physicists are not entirely sure what the sun is doing now. Some solar indices have dropped below theoretical minimums. This means that while the cyle its entering is neither unprecedented nor unexpected, it will be more severe than we thought possible.

As at least one solar physicist has stated, perhaps the active sun of the past few centureis is NOT the norm. Perhaps the sun is going back to "normal". should you get a graph of the glacial and interglacial periods this thought should scare you.

Because the warming was through increased solar activity (the modern solar maximum) the Pacific Decadal oscillation being in positive mode, and the Atlantic Multi-decadal oscillation being in positive mode.

Now we are heading for a modern solar minimum, the PDO is now negative, and although the AMO is still positive it is not expected to stay positive for long, so Brrr it' going to get colder.

Our sun is getting so burn. the helium gas is coming to hydrogen and the reaction is soon to becoming the end. So the reaction of helium burns to hydrogen the gas cover the sun. so the heat is now getting decrease to the solar. and we then get theless heat. it's the reason to cool the globe.

Kano is on the money. We are not deniers, just bigger tea leaves.
