Why aren't fossil fuel industry execs being called to testify (like the tobacco execs were) on the costs and hazards

Because, unlike tobacco, which had been shown to be a problem in the 1930s, and had been killing people who should have known better for 50 years, it's harder to draw a direct link to global warming.

AND, because we pay way more for energy than we do for tobacco, thus there's more money available to confuse the issue.

AND, because, with the advent of TV and the internet, people are dumber today than they were a generation ago.

AND, because there are so many people that, unlike a couple generations ago, don't care about the world that they'll leave behind for their grandchildren.

because tobacco is a scapegoat, the chosen industry used to distract the braindead populace from what is actually happening around them.

got cancer? must be tobacco....even if you never smoked, it must be tobacco.

those bastards marketed to children with their flavored cigarettes...to children!

want some birthday cake vodka? its advertised on tv.

Is because of what the deniers running the House of Reps are afraid these execs might say, or the fear of what might happen to their campaign fund raising for the next election, or both?
