Humm, is it true that the Arctic ice has reformed and is more than many can remember ever being there?

Global warming?

New ice is not the same as old ice, the new ice may cover a wide area during the winter but disappears much faster than old ice. The Northwest passage has been navigable every summer since 2006, it was not navigable for 6,000 years prior to that.

Jose,

Right now the extent of the Arctic sea-ice is just over 14.1 million square kilometres, this is the 8th lowest extent ever known for the 25th Feb. There is slightly more ice this year than there has been in recent years. Since 2,000 the mean sea-ice extent at this time of year has been 14,030,071km2, today there is 14,116,719km2, so there’s about half a percent more than in recent years.

Ordinarily the maxima of sea-ice extent are reached in the second week of March, if this year follows suit then the ice will continue expanding for a further week or two and should peak at around 14.3 million km2. However, the ice is erratic at present due to abnormal wind conditions over the Arctic. There was a temporary decline in sea-ice extent starting on 18 Feb and it wasn’t until late yesterday that levels had returned to those of 17 Feb.

The lowest amount of ice ever recorded for the 25th Feb occurred in 2006 other years with low values are 2011, 2005, 2007 and 2012; all five years being below 14 million km2.

Historically at this time of year there would have been 16.0 to 16.1 million km2 of ice but these levels haven’t been seen since the mid 1970’s, the time when the Arctic began to melt significantly.

Unless you've got any source for that story, even a bad one, I'm going to ignore it... then again with my luck i'll be reported for non-answer.

No I do not believe that the Arctic Ice has reformed and is more than many can remember ever being there. there, I answered with the same about of sources that you gave.

Nope. You can say it's recovered more than it ever has but that was from an all time low in the summer. It's still below the 1979 to 2000 average.

Antarctic sea ice extent is at record highs though.

No. this year has seen record levels of freezing but arctic ice is still less than what it was a decade ago, however antarctic is at record level extents.

Global warming is caused by the sun.

Sure looks that way to me. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestaylor/...

But if you listen carefully to the rabid global warming alarmists they focus on small areas such as the Larson B region ice shelf which broke off into icebergs and attempt to deceive people into thinking that the entire continent is losing ice mass at an exponential rate. Alarmists do whatever they can to cause such malicous distortions to perpetrate the AGW fraud. Climate change alarmists do not want people looking at the entire continental ice mass because the inconvenient truth is that the total antarctic ice mass has increased to record highs causing these massive icebergs and ice shelves to break apart into the oceans.

Certainly looks that way.

Troll or idiot.

In a word.. "No"
