What does the earth's near future look like?

Posted at: 2015-03-12
In 25 years, the earth will be pretty similar to today.

There will still be forests, but due to clearing, both for lumber, and to grow food, not as much.

It will be warmer.

For the last half century, every decade has been warmer than the preceding one.

There's no indication that that trend will change.

It seems that fresh water will be more of a problem.

That's getting worse all the time.

Populations of India, Pakistan China, and more, depend on glacial melt from the Himalayas.

That glacial melt is increasing, and I suspect that in 25 years, it'll be similar to today.

However, at some point, there won't be enough ice to sustain that water source, and then there will be serious competition for water, possibly resulting in real wars.

You can also expect China to be in a stronger political position on the world stage,

and the US to be in a weaker position.

Today, the situation in Russia is just to unstable to predict what will happen with them.

To truly answer that, you must understand the creator's purpose for this earth. In spite of the existing problems of global warming and deforestation and so forth this beautiful planet will be saved. But sadly not by any efforts of man alone. Ecclesiastes 1:4 says 'A generation is going, and a generation is coming, But the earth remains forever.' Revelation 11:18 describes a time when God will '...bring to ruin those ruining the eath.' If you'd like to learn more about how this will be done please see the link below.

will there still be forrests in 25 years?

Absolutely, man won't destroy all the trees. In fact man has been responsible for more trees on the earth. Back in the 1800s most of the Dakotas were barren. When the homestead act was in force, young trees were given to the homesteaders. They were given more acres to plant them.

In fact there ar more trees on the American continent now thanwere when Columbus found the Americas.

For every tree in the US that is cut down by the forestry companies, three or four are planted.

how will it all look like after 25 years of global warming?

According to Al Gore GW has been here over fifty years. I am 73 and I haven't seen any difference yet. According to other experts GW is centuries old. You still are living comfortable, right?

should i be worried as a 16 yo?

Be more worried about politics than the environment. What has killed more people this year? ISIS or hurricanes? Who do you fear more, HAMAS or the weather?

Quote by Ottmar Edenhoffer, high level UN-IPCC official: "We redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy...Basically it's a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization...One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore."

As the experts say on the subject, "One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy." And this man is one of those who tell you that GW is endangering the earth.

Look at what the real honest scientists have to say.

Quote by Will Happer, Princeton University physicist, former Director of Energy Research at the Department of Energy: “I had the privilege of being fired by Al Gore, since I refused to go along with his alarmism....I have spent a long research career studying physics that is closely related to the greenhouse effect....Fears about man-made global warming are unwarranted and are not based on good science. The earth's climate is changing now, as it always has. There is no evidence that the changes differ in any qualitative way from those of the past.”

Quote by Martin Keeley, geology scientist: “Global warming is indeed a scam, perpetrated by scientists with vested interests, but in need of crash courses in geology, logic and the philosophy of science.”

Quote by Eduardo Tonni, paleontologist, Committee for Scientific Research, Argentina: “The [global warming] scaremongering has its justification in the fact that it is something that generates funds.”

Quote by George Kukla, climatologist, research scientist with the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University: "The only thing to worry about is the damage that can be done by worrying. Why are some scientists worried? Perhaps because they feel that to stop worrying may mean to stop being paid."

These are just a few of the real scientists in this world. There are many many more, so don't be afraid of the future. Man cannot destroy the Earth. He doesn't have enough power.

Sleep tight and rest assured, if anyone out there tries to scare you about GW, just tell them to scientifically prove it. They haven't so far. even with a trillion dollars wasted on the subject.

There's an ancient Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times". I'm an old foop of 68. There has been more change in the world since I was your age than in the previous two centuries, and things are just getting rolling. Our huge population means that we are putting increasing strains on earth's natural resources while we're just beginning to come to terms with the fact that we're in charge of the place. While the strains are great, we're also experiencing huge growth in our communication abilities (40 years ago the vast majority of people on earth didn't even have a phone) and technological ability - there's more computing power in my phone than there was at the university computing center where I learned to program. There's more solar, wind, an nuclear power today than the world's total energy usage when I was a kid.

Huge and accelerating problems, huge and growing technical resources, accelerating changes. The world you see at 30 isn't going to much resemble the one you've experienced so far. Scientific curiosity and a determination to enjoy the ride are going to be your biggest assets.

Temperature will rise.

Think about this statement and it's effects of the forests.

Global Warming will also get worse.

I believe there's still a greener future. I believe there are still good and kind hearted people who will do everything in saving our environment. I just hope and wish that all of us will do our share in taking part of caring our environment and our mother earth more than anything else. If we'll not do it, who will do it, for our children?

The good news is that the price of renewable energy will continue to drop. But, baring some major volcanic activity, Earth will continue to warm. It will be decades before the fossil fuel era ends.

Ignore the nonsense about predictions supposedly not happening. The only prediction that matters is the temperature trend.

Same as now The predictions of the 1980s never happened

Its rubbish Science

There will still be forests. I also think solar power will be commonplace then, with solar panels on many roofs; as many as have satellite dishes now. And probably the north pole will be ice free in summer by then. But life will go on as usual.

Storms will get worse, flooding worse, wild fires worse, shorelines eaten away by the oceans.

We need to make the Deniers pay for all damages. They are raping mother earth

Of course there will be, there are thousands of forests and a lot of them are protected areas making it a very strict criminal offence to destroy them

Im 16 too! :) To me the earth will be total chaos then.

#myopinion

it will keep changing. no worries- great opportunities to clean up what the last generation left you with.

burning land because of rise of massive destructive nuclear weapons.
