Yet the sample sizes are very small, and the correlations they find are because of people who DON'T believe the theories, yet the paper interprets this as people are likely to believe contradictory conspiracies.

Wage slave, I seem to remember the astronauts setting up a mirror so that the exact distance could be measured by laser. I don't see how we hit the dark side of the moon with a laser. We wouldn't be able to see the junk anyway. Don't you realize how far away that is and how incredibly small the human artifacts on the moon are.
I am not aware of any skeptic that believes we didn't make it to the moon. There are probably some out there and I am sure if alarmists figure out who, they will attempt to paint all skeptics as these wackos, well like Lewandowsky did. I took a lot of psychology classes and they were really easy As for me because they were interesting but I have since lost some respect for for the field and consider it somewhat below science and certainly people like Lewandowsky drag it further into the muck.
Note: That is a good point. We have photographs of the "debris" but I suspect the conspiracy nuts would simply argue it is more of the same.
I made up my mind about Stephan Lewandowsky some time ago. Is the fact that an anagram of his name is "What Lysenko spawned" purely accidental? I had to work at turning "Anthropogenic IPCC" into "Graphic Conception".

Do you know why the moon landing hoaxers think it was all a hoax? The astronauts always landed on the dark side of the moon. Since the moon's orbit is syncronized with the earth's, we never get to see all the garbage left behind. There is no way to verify its presence except to send up a space probe to take photographs. Since we can't ever see the moon landing junk, it's possible we never went.
I have read that 6% of Americans are moon landing hoaxers. This is useful because it means any opinion held by 6% or less is the kook fringe and can safely be ignored without consideration.

If 6% of the population are conspiracy theorist, I would guess 74% would be sheeple just believe what they are told, the remaining 20% who like to think for themselves are both skeptics and AGW proponent's, but skeptics in the majority, I think some proponents (maybe Pegminer) don't actually believe in AGW, but as their careers depend on it, defend it.

Furthermore, if anyone thinks that it was fake, let me tell you, the fear in those two who landed, about the Landing Module not igniting on its first try was real. If it wouldn't have ignited, there was no second chance. They were doomed to die on the Moon. There were contingency plans from the President on down to the janitors on what to do in the event of failure. That could not be faked.
I studied a lot of the documentaries about the subject. The only item that could not be easily explained was the flag movement. That can be explained by several reasons, none of them conclusive with the instrumentation that we have.
