IS the heat wave in America above normally observed levels?

This has been in my mind on and off for a little while, and personally, I think that there are people out there that want to keep the majority of people, in a state of fear. Who really knows what the weather was like 1000 years ago?! We only have just so much data on weather, much less what weather was where and for how long. These "anomalies" in weather are probably things that, along with the ozone layer, the "hole" above the north pole, El Nino, etc, have and do occur in a cyclical manner, but we don't have the VERY long term information to see this.

I think it is all about money... special interest groups around the world start fear factors, and people donate to find an answer. Twenty years ago, cancer, ANY cancer was a death sentence, or so many believed, until billions of dollars added to research, and now most can be, maybe not cured, but quality and quantity of life much better.

Thanks for the good question!

Global climate change is occurring. Every type of weather and weather anomaly is formed within the changing climate. Heat waves will occur on a more consistent basis in certain regions due to the higher temperatures. Rainfall will increase in other parts of the world while drought increases in others because of changing water cycles. It is dependent on where you live. That being said, heat wave temperatures are, most likely, increased due to a warmer climate. However, it is difficult to say whether the heat wave, to a greater or lesser degree, would have occurred without global warming. The area of the world where the heat wave is occurring is expected to get drier and warmer in a warmer climate and incidents of droughts are expected to increase.

As for your statement concerning the US stonewalling the rest of the world, the rest of the world, in general, is much more aware of global climate change than the US. Luckily the US has begun to wake up to the reality of it. That being said, the US is still the country to reduce it's carbon footprint the greatest. However they are also one of the countries that continues to have one of the largest carbon fingerprints.

Its only affecting a few states in the west . In the Midwest and East its in the 70s

and 80s.

Not Global Warming and its Summer .

Oh yeah !!

The planet has never seen a heatwave before, it must be GoreBull Warming.

Wise up:

Top climate scientists say there is no man-made Global Warming.

The Great Global Warming Swindle

This heatwave is above normal and it is conclusive proof Earth is getting hotter.

A heat wave during summer...OH MY GOD!!!! ITS UNHEARD OF!!!!

Someone needs to do something QUICK!!!

WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE BY NEXT WEEK!!!!

God, I just hope it doesn't get cold in the winter or I have no idea how we will make it.

If so, do you think it may climate change/ global warming related or just a coincidental anomaly?

I ask because unless America feels the climate change issue happening in its own backyard they are not going to do anything at the UN climate change conventions and until America does something the rest of the world is not going to be able to do much either because the US will use its might to stonewall any regulations.

So, what do you think?
