Dennis Miller has proposed your solution. Since the solution to global warming is renewable energy, it makes sense to use up all the regular energy faster, not keep it in the ground. There would be a one time impulse in warming, after which CO2 emissions would start to drop precipitously, below the original levels.
There is also the impracticality of your proposal, but you knew that already.

you don't believe in global warming? then you haven't been in our country. we are suffering horrible weather conditions, not only because of earth quakes, typhoons and hurricanes, Even monsoons, supposedly a normal even can cause tragedies. you happen to live in a big, well developed country that is why you don't feel the direct hit. we already have a strong typhoon now with a name that Starts with Y, one more typhoon for the year and we'll complete the alphabet. we are in a country near the equator but hail storms would sometimes occur.
A lot more difficult an experiment to accomplish than having the people who think burning fossil fuels is so horrible to simply stop using fossil fuels. But we all know telling whether or not a reduction in CO2 levels is having any impact will be as ambiguous as the proof it is having an impact now.
If you drank all the water you would normally drink in one week in one day you would die. Your thought experiment has no merit.
