The climate has always changed and always will, man does not and cannot control the climate. And the slight amount of warming we've experienced over the last several decades was NATURAL and NOT man-made.
But the warming appears to be finished. It's been cooling for at least 12 years according to HadCrut3 & 4.

According to RSS Satellite data there has been no warming for almost 18 year.
If we don't do anything to change the climate, it won't change. If we keep making the changes we are making now (mostly adding CO2 to the air all the time) then it will.

The truth of what the future of our envirnments will be is something no one knows, nor will such a thing in future futures ever be known either.
So either we do the best we can and harmonize, especially by noting the ignorances that create gnarls of population density, or we can tell our kids 'whatever'.
We're not entirely sure. That's part of the problem, actually. It could be anything from a very minor problem to a very real threat of human extinction.

Earth will continue to warm. We can hope that the effects are not too bad, but we can't count on it, especially if, as "skeptics" love to point out, computer models are not perfect.
One effect of warming that we are certain; ice melts. And melting land ice causes the sea level to rise, flooding millions of square miles of land.
The costs to human civilization, already visible, will continue to increase. If you look at past human cultures, you can see that the costs of environmental change can frequently be large enough to destroy a civilization.
