Is Geoengineeringwatch.org a disinformation/conspiracy site?

I have not looked at the site, but I am horrified by the concept.

1 Because as per now there is no need for geoengineering.

2 Because any geoengineering that would be effective could also have untold consequences.

3 Man screws up much more often than he fixes

4 Already we meddle too much with nature.

5 There are natural (natures ways) of helping, real trees, the soil holds three time as much CO2 as the atmosphere, if we have to capture CO2 and store it, put it in the soil where it will do good, and where it will be carbon not CO2, lock away CO2 and you are locking away oxygen.

Typical conspiracy site ran by an uninformed armchair expert (Dane Wigington in this case).

The fact that the site believes in chemtrails should be enough indication about the site's validity.

The other claims it makes don't stand up to a little scrutiny either:

"Debunked- Dane Wigington's 10 "bullet" points regarding geoengineering"

As a geological engineer by training, my opinion is it is pure garbage. The suggestion that the California drought is engineered is ridiculous. Then it talks about Chem trails. I didn't find anything that wasn't gross disinformation. It is sad that people gullible to this kind of garbage.

Hey - they're fishing for government grants. All you have to do to get a grant is to play on the heartstrings of a liberal. No intelligence is needed

I have not looked at the site but if they are advocating removal of CO2 from the atmosphere --- they are nut-jobs. CO2 does not drive warming --- it's actually temperature that drives CO2 levels.

So whatever they are selling on that site, I'm not buying.

-----------------------

They seem to think 'chemtrails' are real, if so they are a bunch of nutters.

Yes.

Ha! Ha! These egotists think they can make a tree better than God? Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

I came across this website about geoengineering and was rather surprised by the information they have on there. They mainly focus on Solar Radiation Management (SRM) but they have some information on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). They mentioned that CDR involves artificial trees, how ridiculous. They seem to use fear and quickly label you a troll, paid shill, part of the conspiracy etc. if you don't hold the same view as them. What is your opinion of GeoengineeringWatch.org?
