What are some of the biggest processes to create pollution that we do not see any benefit?

In a word, waste. Whenever energy or resources are wasted, they are by definition used without benefit to humans. This comes in many forms. Heat (or cool, conditioned air) lost to poor insulation. Lights on when nobody is using them. Resources that are neither used by the company that obtained them nor recycled or otherwise used by someone else. Spoiled food. Leaky faucets. Eliminating all these kinds of wastes would not only benefit the environment, it would benefit us, as well.

People typically don't do things unless they have a benefit for them. I would suggest that North Korea's nuclear program might fit within your criteria but there is a chance that it will benefit the Dearest Leader if we cave to his lunacy. Certain criminal activities might as well.

A vegan diet. Vegans require combinations of fruits, nuts, veggies from exotic places from every corner of the globe all year just to sustain their diet. A local sustainable diet would be fatal especially the further north of the equator one lives. Think about the carbon footprint their diet makes. 1st the complete destruction of natural habitat to make their organic farms then the fuel the massively polluting cargo ships and tractor-trailer rigs used to distribute there vegan produce to them.

Next you have greedy corporations producing vitamin and mineral suppliments that vegans must consume because even their all natural veggie diet is unable to provide the necessary nutrition on its own. That causes pollution.

Vegans fart more global warming gasses.

There is always something that benefits us, including selling the hangman the rope to hang us with.

I'm in agreeance with James's sarcasm and Jim Z's intelligence. If I had 15 "thums up" to give, I would give Jim Z 14 of them.

What processes cause pollution that do not benefit society, humans, the world, at all? At least, in your opinion. i.e. what processes cause so much waste/pollution that the end product(s) do not benefit society, humans, or anyone at all?

Thanks for your answers! : )
