Things like ice melting etc happened ALL the time in history before man. Man probably have accelerate some of it a little. There's nothing could be done and it is NOT clear something should be done to prevent ice melting.

the North pole is melting at an alarming rate and so the planet will shift because unless the Magnetic force can balance out the Gravity of a Gyroscopic imbalance.

Ice is very reflective, so has a high albedo. Vegetation can have either a higher albedo or a lower albedo than bare ground.
