I think u should say that global warming is stupid and only hippies support it. I personally don't agree sight the theory of global warming because if big factories and other companies are burning petroleum into the atmosphere then it should heat up more than 1 degree in 1,000 years
You would have to ignore the facts, as the facts are that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, that without greenhouse gases the earth average temperature would be 33C colder (a giant snowball) and that we have added 40% more CO2 to the atmosphere. There is not one scientist, engineer, or geologist, who denies these facts.
So since you have to make up arguments why government should not intervene, you could take the approach of the extreme free marketeer. Just claim that government should not intervene with any form of regulation that hinders people to earn money. When they point out that global warming harms people just claim that it is a hoax made up by (thousands of climate) scientist all over the world in order to get tax money to pay for they salaries.
Pat has a great list of made up "reasons" and just hope that your audience doesn't know the facts and/or are not willing to do some research. Don't be to silly and say that since excrement (or CO2) is plant food we should vaporize it and dump it in the atmosphere and save a lot of money by not having to pay for sewage treatment plants. But other then that follow his example and start of with one talking point that the other side already agrees with and call them "myths" (like it is true that temperatures have been higher in earths history) and follow up with some that are not completely true or even false. Remember that if the first one is true and present in such a way as if the other side is disagreeing, your other talking points are more likely accepted if you present them in the same way.
Or you can use sagebrush's approach claim it is a scam (to install a tyrannical world government) and post some quotes people may or may not have said. Here are some that were actually written in this section of yahoo answers by Sagebrush (a self proclaimed Christian and ardent AGW denier) : "Execute all those who voted for OBAMA", "Hire the handicapped, they are fun to watch!" and "Justice and equality are code words for Communism. Any good government would want no part in that."

These are all quotes by advocates of Global Warming. It shows that there is hypocrisy among the proponents of Global Warming. Global warming is a scam and the government is participating in this scam if they take any action on it.

There is no good scientific evidence that global warming is happening. In fact, the earth has been cooling for over a decade, while CO2 has risen.

At one time many of these same 'scientists' (scam artists) tried to sell the public on an Ice Age caused by CO2.

This theory has little evidence to support it. To believe in this, you have to believe several things: we are warmer than ever, CO2 reserves will be released from massive ground melting and CO2 will heat the earth so much the process will spiral and melt all the ice. There is substantial evidence that the earth was warmer several times as recently as 3000 years ago yet there was no mass flooding. There was no massive release of CO2 recorded.
Myth #4 – Global warming will be universally destructive.
Global warming has presided over some of the best times in human history. Instead of mass famine we get massive food surplus. Instead of horrible drought and extinctions we get lush forests, increased plant growth and more inhabitable space for all creatures.
Myth #5 – CO2 is a pollutant -
Carbon dioxide is plant food. Plants grow faster and more food is available to the critters of earth. Excessive carbon dioxide would be a bad thing for sure but in the last 100 years it is said that CO2 increased from 270 to 394 parts per million. This is an increase of 0.000118 or 0.0118%. But there is some substantial question about the accuracy of this number, numerous CO2 results were scrapped from 1900 to 1940 on the basis that something was wrong with them. In one report, every test scrapped showed higher historic levels than are comfortable for Global Warming scientists.
Myth #6 – CO2 rise was created by man. -
While this makes sense at first, the jury is still out on this conclusion as well. The oceans contain 37,400 billion tons (GT) of suspended carbon, land biomass has 2000-3000 GT. The atpmosphere contains 720 billion tons of CO2 and humans contribute only 6 GT additional load on this balance. The oceans, land and atpmosphere exchange CO2 continuously so the additional load by humans is incredibly small. A small shift in the balance between oceans and air would cause a CO2 much more severe rise than anything we could produce. The reality is we just don’t know.
Myth #7 – CO2 will continue to rise indefinitely. -
Feedback mechanisms in absorption will hold CO2 to a maximum level at some point. I would cite some numbers but I don’t believe science understands this any more than they understand historic temperature.
Myth #8 – The UN IPCC is trying to save the planet from global warming -
The UN IPCC was formed before global warming was identified for the purpose of discovering if man made climate change was true, what are the damages that will occur as a result of this change and what can we do about it. The IPCC would cease to exist if any of the three questions were answered in the negative i.e no global warming, no damage from global warming and nothing we can do about it. They would loose their jobs.
Another important point about the IPCC is that if either of the last two questions had simple answers they would also be defunded. For example in the second question, if global warming was primarily a good thing (which it appears to be) there would be no money spent. For the third question, if the answer to solve global warming was simple and easy there would be no money spent on the IPCC. Governments always need more money and power so it should be no surprise that the IPCC concluded, global warming is man made, there will be huge planet crushing disaster and it is very expensive to fix. The IPCC is in this for other reasons.
Because nothing any Government could do would make any difference. The real cause of our ever changing climate is as follows.
If anyone saw Professor Brian Cox in his series on the universe, a moon around Saturn showed EXACTLY what is causing the ever changing climate on earth, the continuous change in gravity, causing the planets tectonic plates to move and release magma, heating the oceans from under the sea bed. Because of the Earths current alignment with the other planets, and subsequent erratic orbit, tectonic movement, meaning earthquakes, has increased in the past twenty years. Opening and closing of undersea volcanic vents is the cause of the various El Nino and La Nina weather patterns, nothing whatsoever to do with CO2 or methane!
Because it is not proven yet, we have had a very warm last fifty years, but it is not proven whether it is to do with Co2 or solar modern maxima, also temperatures have not risen in the last 16 years, plus you can argue warming is not bad, a little warming means a warmer/wetter climate with increase in food crops being grown, it means greening of the planet (proven by satellite imaging the Sahara and Kalahari deserts are receding,
Carbon taxes and restrictions on fossil fuel use, means less jobs, higher prices, and a failing economy.
