What do supposedly failed predictions change about temperature trends?

Absolutely nothing.

The fact that we got predictions wrong in the past suggests that we shouldn't have *too* much confidence in the predictions we're making now, because we can't in any way guarantee that the new ones will be any better than the old ones. But, even though the more specific predictions may have been wrong, the overall trend being predicted clearly came to pass.

What do failed predictions have to do with the temperature, period? Only a greenie would attempt to take failure and make it positive.

Quote by David Frame, climate modeler, Oxford University: “Rather than seeing models as describing literal truth, we ought to see them as convenient fictions which try to provide something useful.”

If it is fiction, it doesn't belong in true science.

So I suppose the answer has to be, "Nothing."

Nothing.

The temperature trends remain what they are: the temperature trends.

The failed predictions remain what they are: failed predictions.

They do say something about the quality of the predictions and the data and methods used to produce them, however.

Failed predictions don't change actual trends, I don't think anybody ever said they did. But failed predictions show that the 'science' of man-made Global Warming is way wrong. All the climate models rely heavily on the idea that small increases of CO2 cause relativity large amounts of warming and of course ALL the climate models are wrong as the empirical temperature records show.

CO2 warms when exposed to sunlight but so does every other gas in the atmosphere. And the vast majority of warming by the Greenhouse Effect is done by water vapor, not CO2.

-----------------------

It means climate change computer models are rubbish, and seeing that most the climate change theory is based on model predictions/projections/forecasts 'climate change theory' is rubbish too.

"Supposedly failed predictions? I think you can make that "Failed predictions".

They mean that science is a hoax because the planet is cooling due to all the extra plant food which true scientists research by quoting Goebbels.
