The BIGGEST scam in the world is Government subsidies (climate science is one of those who receive subsidies IMO). Global Warming is happening right along with cooling (just as it always has). CO2 is a "bit" player in the GRAND SCHEME of things.
When you figure out that today's disasters aren't any worse than previous disasters (13 million died from a drought in China just before global warming record keeping began in 1880 - 1876 to 1879), then there wouldn't be any need to make silly bets. Glaciers have been melting for thousands of years and it's been warming since the Little Ice Age ended in the late 1600s.
Temperatures have risen 0.87C in 350+ years and the climate has always changed as far as I know. What is alarming about that?
At present, we are spending a $billion a day on the climate change issue. I gather this has been ongoing for a number of decades.

Will you also pay out if climate change produces any benefits? (Examples: Crops growing farther north, crop yield increasing because of more CO2 in the atmosphere, fewer cold-related deaths etc)
Also the "... once it's proven beyond any doubt ..." may be problematic. Scientists don't do proof and even courts (at least in the UK) accept "beyond reasonable doubt". "Any doubt" is just too difficult to prove.

So, what I will do is this. I will sign a promise to pay the difference between the cost of the detriments MINUS the cost of the benefits, for however much they go above the costs of your assinine solutions. IF you agree to pay the difference the other way.

You talk about scams while being scammed over and over. You alarmists beleive that warming can only have negative consequences. Did it occur to you that maybe just maybe it might have some benefits too. I will pay it back just as soon as you leftists pay back Obama's nearly 10 trillion debt (and that isn't counting unfunded liabilities which is probably over double that). those who like to sound the alarm are the first to dismiss the solid sciences of astronomy which do actually have something to do with warming and cooling trends on earth. in the 1840's franklin tried to sail over the top of the world only to perish. in 1903-4 Amunston sailed the same route from the bering sea back toward spitzenburg and hit little ice.
