Does this series of New York Times climate articles (titles only) give you 'cause-for-pause'?

There seems to be something in the human psyche to ignore history and assume that your generation and your lifetime is different from the past. It also seems that exaggerating short term trends is a part of the media psyche. If it is cooling for a few years, we are are in for an ice age and if it s warming, we are in for catastrophic warming.

Thanks for naming your source.

This cherry-picked trickery comes from a notorious BS dispensing site with a "blatant anti-science agenda." http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/NewsBusters

When "asking" a "question" about science, try a source that is actually based on science, not on fossil fuel industry deception.

U.S. National Academy of Sciences, 2010:

http://books.nap.edu/openbook.php?record...

“Climate change is occurring, is caused largely by human activities, and poses significant risks for a broad range of human and natural systems.”

http://www8.nationalacademies.org/onpine...

“Choices made now about carbon dioxide emissions reductions will affect climate change impacts experienced not just over the next few decades but also in coming centuries and millennia…Because CO2 in the atmosphere is long lived, it can effectively lock the Earth and future generations into a range of impacts, some of which could become very severe.”

http://www.physics.fsu.edu/awards/NAS/

“The Academy membership is composed of approximately 2,100 members and 380 foreign associates, of whom nearly 200 have won Nobel Prizes. Members and foreign associates of the Academy are elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research; election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors that can be accorded a scientist or engineer.”

I think you've hit the nail on the head: deniers get their science information from the popular media and blogs, and often don't read beyond the headlines.

I think I've said this numerous times, and now you're actually confirming it.

Ha! Ha! Dork just accused you of cherry picking.

Go to one of my most recent questions about 97% scientists and see how Dork cherry picks.

I have a theory that has proven out true so far. What ever the greenies accuse us of, they are doing it times ten. In other words I get called a liar many times by these fools and yet they never caught me in a lie. Yet I have caught them in many many lies. (Trevor is the easiest of all to catch since he so full of it his eyes must be brown.) So when Dork says you were cherry picking, just go to my question and see what he routinely does. Ha! Ha! They are so visible.

In direct answer to your question, yes it certainly does. Yet you have many on this site that nibble at these predictions and eat them up. They are grasping at straws to attempt to prove their flawed theories.

EDIT: Peggy says we get out information from the media. When ever in the history has a true scientist gotten his or her information from the media? I suppose Peggy thinks that the Wright Bros. got their plans from the airplane from the Dayton Daily News. I suppose Charles Kettering got the plans of a electric starter for a car out of the same newspaper.

Ha! Ha! I seems Peggy cannot realize the concept of people thinking for themselves. Real scientists think for themselves. Obviously, greenies get their information from Spiderman Comics.

There's plenty of evidence of dejavu all over again, and again, and again.
