What do you think about the new Walrus climate scare story?

You have to admit, their imagination is running wild. The stuff they are smoking is superior to anything they have had before. As history shows, this is nothing new. The walrus has a tough life at times. So do we. At least the walrus doesn't have to put up with greenie taxes and inane laws.

Gore went down there for a photo shoot. The trouble was you couldn't photogenically tell the difference between the walrus and Gore and it is hard to feel pity for a walrus in a suit and tie and flies off in a CO2 spewing jet.

another remarkable sign of the dramatic environmental conditions changing as the result of sea ice loss," said Margaret Williams, managing director of the group's Arctic program, by phone from Washington, D.C. "The walruses are telling us what the polar bears have told us and what many indigenous people have told us in the high Arctic, and that is that the Arctic environment is changing extremely rapidly and it is time for the rest of the world to take notice and also to take action to address the root causes of climate change."

"Mass haulouts of Pacific walrus and stampede deaths are not new, not due to low ice cover

Large haulouts of walruses ― such as the one making news at Point Lay, Alaska on the Chukchi Sea (and which happened before back in 2009) ― are not a new phenomenon for this region over the last 45 years and thus cannot be due to low sea ice levels. Nor are deaths by stampede within these herds (composed primarily of females and their young) unusual, as a brief search of the literature reveals."

Walrus numbers are up considerably from the 1960s, although they are notoriously difficult to count (Garlich-Miller et al. 2011).

Walrus live in areas of shallow seas, as they collect their food from the sea bottom (mostly molluscs) and are not able to dive very deep, large ice extents are a problem for them as they need open shallow water.

But hey, if we can blame it on global warming why not!!! even though this years ice extent is similar to last years and much greater than 2012.

First it was "Think of the Children!" now it's "Think of the Walruses!". Next it will be "Think of the Walrus Children!" Oh the humanity, Oh the walrusity!

It's just more ranting nonsense from a whacked out eco nut job whose job is funded by this gravy train.

If only he and those nice picks could have spake.
