Is the god that the Pope worships so weak that he would create an Earth so flimsy in which his creation can destroy it?

He seem to think so.

Since the beginning of civilization man has viewed the actions of others as harmful and blamed mans bad behavior on floods, famine, droughts, and so on. The belief is that mans bad behavior offends god and god takes his revenge on man by creating a bad environment. The same holds true today with so-called "global warming". Man's bad behavior is causing the planet to warm up, causing crop failures, famine, floods, etc.... If only we repent and change our evil ways will the gods look in our favor and once again start cooling the planet like he was in the 1960's and 1970's. Let's just hope they don't turn to human sacrifices.

I'm going to try & answer this question= In my opinion only. The creation of which you talk about did'nt come from the real GOD. The pope like his kind all over earth does'nt know the real GOD. GOD creates, but its up to us species to protect and keep all as safe as possible, but stop & think. In the late 1940's out of the blue. bill Haley & his Comets were a rock & roll band making money singing & building a Comet. In early 1950 they launched it some 12 years before man ever thought of going into space. After that time to 2013 Haley's comet after my solution given to another Nation to help feed their people better called Triple Output solution turned off Global Warming and some how triggered Haley's Comet into colliding into a so-called Asteroid heading to earth 13 years away thanks to the Hubble Telescope's distance of seeing. I received pictures of the aftermath I dubbed THE BIG BANG of 10 large chunks drifting in different directions away from earth & our universe. Now do you think the real GOD is'nt looking on and ? I & my Global Teams are a big silent part of the facts that we & all species are safe. In my opinion the pope does'nt know or care how others save lives worldwide. They just comment. Mike

Besides this being in the wrong section, this question has nothing to do with global warming. (It should be in mythology [1] or religion) What the pope did say, according to your supporting information and what you think he said are quite different.

But to answer your question as you asked it lets assume for argument sake the following two premises:

a) The Christian creator god exists (it doesn't)

b) You substitution of the words suggest that by "destroying our forests, ravaging our soil and polluting our seas" we are "destroying the earth the (Christian) god created"

The only possible answer would have to be "Yes" (the "god" that the Catholic Pope [3] worships is so weak that he would create an Earth so flimsy in which his creation can destroy it.)

However if you are interested in the strength/weakness of the gods might want to look up "the problem of evil" [4] which goes something like this:

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"

God doesn't have to live here; we do.

If we don't care about our home, why should God?

And if God were so inclined to design Earth to prevent humans from getting into trouble, what was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil doing in the Garden of Eden?

There is no indication in this article, or anywhere else, that the Pope "thinks" that the entire earth could be destroyed. As for whether God's creations can, in general, be destroyed, the best answer is no one can say for sure. What is clear is that no credible climate scientist has ever predicted that anthropogenic climate change could destroy the earth as a whole. Nor has any economist of credible standing suggested that taxes on gasoline destroy democracy or freedom. It is true that the power to tax is the power to destroy, but the internal combustion engine has not been destroyed by 80 years in which a miniscule fraction of a percentage of GDP has been appropriated in the form of a few pennies of tax per gallon of gas.

The world is flimsy. We'd best take that into consideration.

Obviously god and the medias outsmarted you. There is no ruining the Earth. Only the people on it.

There is no god you feeble minded Nazi

no.
