pleace can anyone tell me why is it so important.. minimum 100 words xD

thanks.

What global warming? It's been cooling for at least 12 years.

Top climate scientists say there is no man-made Global Warming.

The Great Global Warming Swindle

Rather than provide the answer for you I’ll give you some points you may wish to consider.

Global warming is important because…

? It affects global weather systems, this can be a good thing or a bad thing depending how it affects the local weather. In some places there will be more rainfall, in others there will be less. In some places crops will die but in others they’ll flourish.

? It’s very expensive. The Stern Review is the most thorough investigation into the cost of global warming and this has calculated that costs of global warming are already $600 billion a year and likely to rise to $2 trillion.

? It’s providing us with new technology and alternative energy sources. Global warming is helping push forward the need for cleaner, healthier, safer, more efficient and cheaper energy. Fossil fuels will run out at some point, we need alternatives in place long before they do.

? It affects many plant and animal species. Some of them now have larger habitats and more food, but for others their habitats are shrinking and they’re finding it harder to get food.

? There are important medical implications. Global warming means that diseases are spread more easily, particularly those in Tropical regions. This has helped speed up medical research and one positive outcome is that a cure may now have been found for Chagas disease, this will save tens of thousands of lives each year. Research into this disease was stepped up because of the fears that it would spread more rapidly in a warmer world.

? Global warming is important for the shipping industry. Previously it was impossible to sail round the north of Canada and Siberia but the melting of the ice in the Arctic means that these routes are now open to shipping for parts of the year. Similarly, the melting Arctic ice is making it easier to explore for oil and gas deposits.

Global climate change is an immediate and important issue that must be addressed by all nations multi-laterally. The effects of climate change - rising temperatures and sea-levels, shrinking glaciers, changes in range and distribution of plants and animals, changing precipitation patterns, and more intense heat waves are likely to worsen if countries do not reduce their greenhouse gases. Climate change has contributed to a rising demand in critical resources and mass migration-both of which have caused social unrest and armed conflict. Some of these effects of climate change are being felt around the world, for example droughts have exacerbated conflicts and humanitarian disasters in Darfur and Somalia. Thus, the global challenge of climate change constitutes both a security and economic threat for the United States.

Averting the projected impacts of climate change requires a global effort, and a shift from an economy dependent on fossil fuel combustion to one powered by clean renewable energy. As one of the leading world economy and biggest producer of greenhouse gases, the U.S. must play a leadership role in tackling this global challenge and mitigate its effects on vulnerable populations. The current administration has initiated some policies and initiatives but they are still falling short of what is needed to address the disastrous consequences of climate change. GlobalSolutions.org is committed in pushing the U.S. Congress and Government to support and lead the international effort to address the challenge of climate change.

I don't think so that Global Warming will come any benefit to the world while it is curse for the human being. It is the rise in the average temperature of the earth which is caused by emission of heat trapping gases from vehicle, deforestation which in result will cause of melting ice of south and north pole. I think this world is not safe now.

Global warming is important because it can cause the ice at the north and south poles to melt which would cause the ocean levels to rise and cause flooding. It has the potential to destroy the entire Earth and if we didn't have the Earth right now we would all die.

why ? atomspheric CO2 hit 400 ppm and rising fast . in the next 20 years the earth will experiance an irreversible , permanent greenhouse effect . we turn into venus -700 degrees F at noon . by the 2030s all life on earth will die .

Its not. There are a lot of warmers who will tell you about some end of the world type of predictions, but lets talk numbers.

The warming seen in the last 100 years is 0.8 degrees. The CO2 concentration now is 400 ppm, which is up from what they think it was prior to the industrial revolution at 280 ppm. Now if you believe the warmers, all of the CO2 placed into the atmosphere since the industrial revolution has caused 0.8 degrees of warming.

Now lets talk about the past. During the Jurassic period the CO2 concentration was at 2200 ppm and the temps were a whole 8 degrees warmer than today. So that seems to confirm what the warmers are saying SLIGHTLY. They are saying that raising our CO2 concentration to 600 or 700 ppm, will lead to a 5-7 degree rise, when the Jurassic period would seem to indicate that you would need to raise to 2200 ppm to get an 8 degree rise. But that's not entirely true either. The Cambrian period was 8 degrees higher at 7000 ppm. And the Carboniferous period saw temps lower and higher than today, with CO2 concentrations about the same as we have today.

Now we can all agree that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, so that increases in CO2 concentrations will cause warming. This is known. What is debated is the amount of warming. This is very complex, especially given that it chagne with temps, air pressure, and the other GHGs in the atmosphere like H2O.

What is also not know is the climate sensitivity to changes in CO2. This is also extremely difficult to determine.

What we do know is that warming will cause the oceans to rise. They are currently rising at 3 mm/yr. This is about an inch every 9 years. Now prior to the industrial revolution, we were rising at around 1-2 mm/year. So this is cause for some concern, but certainly not panic. Otherwise, we also know (but warmers hate to admit this) that increased CO2 in the atmosphere actually helps plants grow, which is certainly a positive thing.

The models which predict large warming are exponential in nature. That means that the further out in time you go, the larger the changes. Currently we have had some models for more than 20 years and so we can see how they are doing. ALL of them are overestimating. In fact, the global warming scientists are looking for the "missing heat", which is to say that they are trying to figure out why their models are not working. So if they overestimate over 20 years, I really have no faith that they will be accurate 100 years in the future.

Otherwise, we know that fossil fuels are not renewable. Plus, I would generally agree that we should limit changes to the climate via pollution. So I think we should do things to reduce our CO2 output. BUT, there is nothing to panic about. Let's work on smart and cost-effective solutions and stop worrying about the sky falling.

Now I am certain that many warmers here will disagree with me. Watch how they do it, though. They will say I am lying, but you will note that I have added many facts to back my claims. They will not say my facts are wrong. So how am I lying???
