What is the impact of climate on an ecosystem?

This is for a geography review guide. I was told the answer was in our textbook but I can't seem to find it.

The climate determines the possible ecosystem for an area. Various types of plants and animals have evolved to take advantage and survive various climate conditions and are usually specialized to these conditions. For example, cacti are well adapted to survive in dry conditions, but are easily killed by too much water. Changes in temperature, moisture and other climate factors will cause a shift in the ecosystem in the area effected because the creatures with characteristics better evolved for the conditions will move in (assuming they can get there).

Climate is everything to do with an ecosystem. Climate tells you if the area is apt to be a jungle or a desert.

Climate determines how, where and if we live.
