Why is it inaccurate to call the climate changes we are influencing "global warming"?

because globally, even though the average temperatures are rising, locally very different things are occurring. Some places are actually colder, others are receiving more precipitation than usual, or more severe storms. The idea behind "climate change" is that the governing things that give us our "four seasons" are in constant change.

It could be argued that mankind's activities have expedited or slowed certain parts of those components, but it should be kept in mind that while we are of course traveling around our sun once every 365 days, giving us four predictable seasons, our sun is in motion around the milky way. This would obviously have some effect on our planet, but this component is not understood as well. You could go on and on from here.

Realistically, climate change is more appropriate than global warming, because climate change is a term that can cover many different subjects and occurrences.

Because for the last 18 years the climate has be relatively unchanged. That makes it hard for people who actually believe in global warming to explain why temperatures have stopped increasing even though co2 levels are continuing their climb. Because they can't explain this pause, they changes the name to climate change. Since the climate is always changing, it is never the same every day, they are now always right!

It isn't. Global warming is happening

And we are causing it

The ten warmest years in the instrumental record are 2010, 2005, 2009, 2007, 2002, 1998, 2006, 2003, 2013 and 2012.

Nevertheless, as some skeptics point out, some people blame everything on global warming, including cold. But, there is no real evidence that such cold weather wouldn't happen anyway, probably even colder.

It's not wrong.

Averaged around the world, temperature is rising.

There are local and seasonal changes, but if we average the entire world, it's getting hotter.

You could check out what's happening to glaciers around the world.

There are a very few that are growing.

But 99% of glaciers are shrinking -- melting.

there is more to climate than just temperatures.

Because it's cold as a mofo where I am right now...
