Current "Global Warming" is 0.62C (Aug 2013) above the scientifically established global average temperature. Last Year (Aug 2013) it was 0.90C above the established global average temperature. Do you think science or the media will proclaim "Global Cooling" when the average temperature goes down?
CO2 is a trace gas. At the turn of the century CO2 measurements showed that it was 0.03% of the atmosphere. It is now 0.04% of the atmosphere. During that rise in CO2 the temperatures have gone up and down and have varied every year since then and like it always has.
What science doesn't tell you is that the Earth has periods where temperatures climb and drop for hundreds of years. Looking back 1400 years we can see that we have at least 2 periods that show this natural fluctuation. The MWP (Medieval Warming Period) and the LIA (Little Ice Age) are the two most recent periods that show a variable temperature. We are just coming out of the LIA which ended in the mid-1700s and some say that it didn't end until the mid-1800s which means we are only 200 - 300 years into the current warming period.
If you think that 0.62C above the established global average temperature is "Global Warming", then you would be correct, but to say that it is a catastrophic warming or even a abnormal warming and will cause irreparable harm to the planet would be a big stretch of scientific imagination.
Global warming is primarily a problem of too much carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere.
Natural Causes
Natural causes are causes created by nature. One natural cause is a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. Methane is a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas is a gas that traps heat in the earth's atmosphere. Another natural cause is that the earth goes through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years.
Man-made Causes
Man-made causes probably do the most damage. There are many man-made causes. Pollution is one of the biggest man-made problems. Pollution comes in many shapes and sizes. Burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels made of organic matter such as coal, or oil. When fossil fuels are burned they give off a green house gas called CO2. Also mining coal and oil allows methane to escape. How does it escape? Methane is naturally in the ground. When coal or oil is mined you have to dig up the earth a little. When you dig up the fossil fuels you dig up the methane as well.
My flat is 21 degrees today. That is because I had the oven on with the windows closed. It was 21 degrees a few months ago, when I didn't have the oven on, because it was a warm day. The point is that even though the temperature today is the same as it was a few months ago, the cause of that temperature is different.
Arguing that the earth was warmer in the past is all very interesting, but that doesn't tell us anything about the cause. I mean, to stretch that argument, the earth was molten in the past so current temperatures are much lower than they were 4 billion years ago. Nothing to worry about so ...
climate does not change by magic, it responds to a number of forces, including the concentration of greenhouse gases- even millions of years ago. Climate does not really care if the concentration of CO2 is natural or not, it responds to the laws of physics.

She needed to appear be credible in a man's world, it was suggested to her that most world leaders were uneducated in the field of science, whereas she was highly educated in the field. She began to speak with authority and the world began to listen, fearful of the economic consequences the big players ie the USA jumped aboard the bus, various scientists and research organisations sprang up and were, and still are paid huge sums of tax payers cash to invent the evidence.
It's about imagined fear. You see a mouse that you know won't harm you but you jump on a chair right? so they sex up the theory and instill a fear of something you can't control. They then put taxes in place to make it look like they want to make a difference and YOU are going to pay for it as YOU caused it by leaving your telly on stand by, boiling a full kettle for one coffee and driving your vehicle of choice.
By the way, CO2 actually has been proved to COOL the atmosphere, not heat it up.
Fossil fuels are essential power sources for growth in up and coming countries as well as the UK and USA, reduce energy use and you reduce output, it's not going to happen, are factories going to be able to produce anything with wind or solar power? no of course not.

Hence, the obvious solution is to eliminate those gases: not only by reduction in releasing but also by absorption directly from the atmosphere.

well the planet has had changes in 4 billion years , so now why all of a sudden is global warming is an issue when we know th planet changes and adjust to change .
for example , i see people driving cars with a capacity of 5 to 6 passengers and i see most of them with only a driver ? is that not causing global warming to have millions of cars on the roads to have one passenger when it can carry 5 ?
seems to me global warming activist are not focusing on the right issues ,and i wonder if they drive cars that waist so much energy driving down the roads at only 20% usefull capacity ?
Human caused global warming is as much a fact as gravity, the debate amongst scientists is manufactured by fossil fuel interests who pay shill professors at random universities to say that there is evidence to the contrary.
Increased carbon in the atmosphere has reached 400 parts per million(ppm) whereas it was 300 in the 1950s. we can test geological deposits to find out what the ppm of CO2 was in the era the rock was formed and the last time the earth reached 400 ppm was 3-5 million years ago and it took thousands of years for it to gently ramp up to that level whereas today its shooting up like a cork.
