1) Stop listening to alarmists. They try to scare people into believing their non falsifiable theory of man made global warming hence their name.
2) In you're an average middle class person you should realize that it would be nearly impossible for you to match the carbon footprints of Al Gore or any member of the IPCC. If they are not worried about the size of their carbon footprints then why should you worry about yours?
@Climate Realist. Why are you using Hadcrut 3? If you're going to use highly upwards adjusted temp data you might as well go full Monty and use Hadcrut4 or Giss.
If you can figure out how to get the developing world to switch to carbon free energy than yes. Otherwise the answer is no.. Recycling will not help. Cap and trade will not help. Other countries simply emit too much CO2, with for example China at 25% of global emissions and growing.

Take for example Climate Realist's answer on this very question. He starts off with an icon of a stranded Polar Bear because of supposedly lack of ice. This has been proven bogus and a PR stunt many times over. That Polar Bear can swim 40 miles and is not stransed by any means. CR ignores the fact that there are many scientists STRANDED down in Antarctica due to too much ice. The Polar Bear is just to play on your emotions, not your logic. I don't want even the highly predatory Polar Bear to suffer in any way and I am sure you don't either. But that has nothing to do with Global Warming. Since that picture was taken, there are more Polar Bears now than then. They are not in trouble. So that by CR's own icon, it starts out with a misrepresentation. And it deteriorates from there.
Furthermore, CR then tries to scare you with the Earth is heating up.

Notice I used UNADJUSTED data. And I brought the time line down to a little over ten years. No one is arguing that the earth is not warmer than it was back in 1996. It also is warmer that in 1650 when the earth was in the middle of a mini Ice Age. This is a fact and not a lie. This is what is called Earth's natural cycle, not man made global warming. Even the IPCC has had to admit the Earth has cooled for 17 years. The two top scientists in environment, Phil Jones and James Hansen, have had to admit the earth is in a cooling cycle. These are top advocates of AGW and yet they were FORCED to admit the truth.
So logically, who is lying? The AGW advocates who are out for your money and tyrannical control over your lives?

Don't be freaked out, relax nothing is happening, we have been17yrs without any temperature rise, global ice levels are average, Antarctic ice extent is at record levels (that's scary)
Me I am much more worried about it getting colder.
