The increase in Antarctic sea ice doesn't have anything to do with ice volume. You deniers fail to understand that Antarctica is losing ice volume more and more each year.
Sea ice increases, then almost all of this melts in summer. The most significant ice loss in Antarctica is from the loss of land ice or ice sheets This melt comes for the most part from the western portions The belief is that the winds are what cause the increase in sea ice while the volume loss is due primarily to the warmer oceans in the western portion decreasing the ice from below and causing calving of the ice sheets

Because of increased moisture a lot more snow falls at the South Pole. As the South Pole is mostly high mountains that snow accumulates rapidly and doesn't melt. The weight of this snow and ice causes the glaciers to move downhill to the ocean where it pushes out into the water and breaks off and refreezes.... the answer to the question is there's more moisture combined with high mountains down there...so what did you expect?

In fact the BEST study was a huge success. A warmer pretending to be a skeptic showed that they can make the 0.6 degrees of warming from 1950 to 2000 into 0.91 degrees of warming GLOBALLY, just by "correcting" the data.

The area around Antarctica is not the whole world. When the next warmest year happens will be because of measurements with thermometers, not with sea ice.
