They are talking about a 20-30 year average to call it climate. At some point, the current numbers get pretty close to what they are saying is climate. Ben Santer said 17 years is needed to discern a signal. Now we have no signal for a period of more than 17 years. No doubt they will move the goalposts again. We should probably keep an eye on what changes GISS will make, as they are under some pressure now to produce a new record temperature. HADCRUTchanged to ver 4 to get rid of the 1998 record year.
The first IPCC report was issued in 1990, when the new global warming regime had lasted for less than 17 years.

Your moving away from the denier standard of trying to use 1998 as the starting point (because 1998 stands out as one year pushed much higher by a record El Nino), if you do that and use any other year in this period 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000 even 1997 which shared part of that record El Nino but didn't get quite as warm (0.46c), then this denier myth of no warming falls apart.

Or maybe you would like to talk to the increasing number of victims of diseases, including the "brain eating amoeba", or Naegleria fowleri, found 500 miles north (in Minnesota) of where it had ever been found before.
Or to the flower seed companies are redrawing their growth maps to accomodate the changing growth seasons of plants as a result of climate change. Perhaps there is a cabal of rhodedendron lovers who are trying to foist those flowers on Alaskans! Or maybe the tulip cartels are trying to limit your freedom to plant your bulbs in April.
Or to the ocean scientists EVERYWHERE who see that the oceans are becoming increasingly acidic with catastrophic effects on the size and growth of coral reefs all around the world. Perhaps they are lying about climate change because they want people to pay attention to the Great Barrier Reef instead of the Miami Dolphins Superbowl chances.
How about the Alpine species of birds, trees, flowers, etc. moving up mountainsides as temperatures rise, or disappearing from mountains altogether due to changes in temp/humidity.
And....The ski season in Aspen is a month shorter than it was 50 years ago.
You can argue all you want about whose temperature data is 0.8 degrees warmer than someone elses (antarcticice-this wasn't a dig at you) or why your statistics are better than the average climate scientist, but nature is not hiding climate change from those of us with eyes that can see. Whenever you deny climate change, you are not just implying that there is a conspiracy among climate scientists, but also among biologists, ecologists, oceanographers, physicists hired by the Koch brothers, etc. In other words, just about every scientist who isn't carrying water for oil or coal companies, large companies in general or FOX news.
As long as we're down here on this earth, God is working for us, so I wouldn't worry about Global Warming.
