Melting of ice on Greenland and in the Artic may lead to?

This is a rather odd question. Water has a pH level of 7.00 or neutral, where the oceans are mildly basic at around 8.14. I would think that ice melt would be 7 as well, which would decrease the pH balance, not increase it. I would say this would make the seas more acidic, but really less basic would be more accurate.

D is certianly correct as ice melting uses energy and would decrease the average temp of Europe, assuming the other variable remain constant.

I would choose D. I doubt the change in pH or temps in Europe would be measurable.

It could lead to anything, according to the ones who we affectionately call greenies. There is a different language out there called 'greenie speak'. With their language you can make anything happen. One person on this site, Trevor, wrote that Global Warming and Climate Change were different but the same. (I suppose he typed that with a serious face.) As displayed on this site it has been accurately displayed that the Earth has cooled for over a decade. But with greenie speak the Earth is warming. When a true scientist points out that there have recently been record cold temperatures, they say that is weather not climate. But a couple years ago there were record highs and that was proof of Global Warming and Climate Change.

Quote by Steven Guilbeault, Canadian environemental journalist and Greenpeace member: "Global warming can mean colder, it can mean drier, it can mean wetter."

So until we can come to an agreement on a common language, anything can be led to and anything cannot be led to, according to greenie speak.

ICE is accumulating in all ICED territories on earth, since 11/28/2012 Global Warming ended. Mike

i agree with no b) answer. A rise of the ocean level may cause drowning of all the land mass.

A) a decrease in ocean levels

B) an increase in ocean pH levels

C) an increased polar bear population

D) a decrease in the average temperature in Europe

E) increased reflection of solar radiation, which will delay global climate change

i ruled out A and C. I think E is unlikely I am between B and D though.
