Only fools would try to deny that changing the composition of the atmosphere has no effect on the heat retention capacity of the atmosphere. It is like a child with crumbs all over its face denying they took the cookie from the cookie jar.
A less foolish approach to denial is trying to cause doubt, by claiming that CO2 is saturated or that the effects are beneficial, or minimal. Like the child admitting that while it is true they ate the cookie, they didn't steal it from the jar. Then you have arguments that this warming is positive by claiming CO2 is good for plants. Like the child claiming it is good that they ate the cookie, because the waste product of the cookie (excrement) is good for plants.
Most of the time the reason for the denial is outright weird, one of the more common arguments I have seen is the suggestion it is a tax grab. When you look into it, it is obviously ridiculous to claim that thousands of scientist all over the world are working together publishing falsified science papers in order to get the politicians in our nations to increase taxes on every one, including the scientists. It is like a child claiming that the crumbs on the face are a fiction of your imagination and you are trying to reduce their allowance for profit.
Then we have people who try to uses association fallacies [3] (often by misquoting and even outright fabrications) that because those people said something that sounds suspicious, that the whole scientific community is "bad"

They may be lying but I doubt it.I read a story about Australia that got my attention.As they are surrounded on all sides by water.(The only nation that is both an island and a continent unto itself).And the waters are measurably rising and the temperature of the seas are also rising.Australia is fighting the worst heat wave in history.Wildfires are burning as cattle are dying.It's a serious problem that must be taken seriously.These rising waters,which are coming from the melting artic caps is also making islands disappear around the globe.Many are inhabited with people constantly moving to higher ground.They are running out of space to live.Loo any of these examples up and you will find yourself reading for hours.Something is making the oceans rise.And remember when the seas rise,so do all tributaries leading into them.That means the Mississippi will rise and cities like st,louis and cincinnati will flood.All coastal communities will also be at danger.I don't know if you call it global warming,climate change,but it is real.Good luck to you.

It is real. The current warming trend caused the end of the last ice age. Though there was a brief cold spell about 300 years ago. Prior to that cold spell it was warmer in parts of Europe than at present.

Yes. My grandmother might be loony, but she has a good memory. She lived in the same place for 97 years and has photos and diary records to prove that the climate has changed in that time drastically. I've seen changes in my lifetime too (and notice that most people don't remember the weather of last week accurately). I've been around the world a couple times, seen cities of tens of millions of people where you couldn't see more than 800 feet due to the smog and smoke and other places where not a trace of human impact has marred the landscape.
We know that we dig up fossil fuels and we know that those fossil fuels were buried underground for millions of years. That's partially why we call them 'fossil' fuels.
We know that burning fossil fuels produces gases like CO2. Unless the basic laws of chemistry are wrong, then burning fossil fuels adds additional CO2 into our atmosphere.
We know that we pump more than 30 billion tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. We know that because we know how much fossil fuel we burn.
We know that CO2 is a greenhouse gas that prevents heat escaping into space. We know this because we've studied the properties of CO2 in the lab since the 1860s.
So, if we put it together, then adding additional CO2 to the atmosphere must warm the planet according to the laws of physics.
We've measured the temperatures at land, at sea, under the sea, and at various levels in the atmosphere. We have surface temperature measurements dating back to the mid-1800s and they show a rise in temperature over the past century or so. We also know that ocean temperatures are rising and that atmospheric temperatures are rising in the lower parts, and cooling in the upper parts. This is pretty much exactly what you'd expect, and shows that the heat is being trapped in the lower parts of the atmosphere where CO2 mixes with other gases. We see the CO2 levels rising in our atmosphere and we also see reductions in the O2 levels. That's because burning fossil fuels combines carbon in the fuel with oxygen in the atmosphere, locking it as CO2. Hence the O2 concentration in the atmosphere drops slightly. We know it's fossil fuels producing that CO2 because fossil fuels have been buried underground for millions of years. That changes the ratio of different isotopes of carbon compared to circulating carbon, and we've seen that characteristic ratio in plants (which absorb CO2) and in the atmosphere itself. Because we add more and more CO2 to the atmosphere, the oceans absorb more CO2, making them slightly more acidic. We've measured that change in acidity in some parts of the world. Warming oceans expand, raising the sea level. We've measured that by tidal gauges and by satellite systems.
So global warming is real. And we're causing it. That's what climatologists have been telling us for decades. Other scientists agree. Every organisation representing the geosciences has confirmed that they accept the data from the climatologists and their conclusions. And still other scientists agree. Every national academy of science, representing the wider scientific community, also endorses the view of the climatologists.
I think it'd be an incredibly stupid thing for us to have a scientific community, to train and educate them, to allow them to conduct research, and then turn around and say 'I don't believe them'. Most people can't even do the maths necessary to become a scientist. Most people can't explain how a barometer works or derive the equations to explain why the pressure of a gas depends on its temperature. So why should we listen to armchair climatologists and members of the general public with no training and no experimental experience rather than the actual scientific community?

First, please understand that the REAL debate is about "man-made" Global Warming --- not global warming. It's true there has been a little natural warming over the last several decades but it was NOT caused by human activity.
Man-made Global Warming advocates have no empirical science to back their claim. And their advocacy movement has been mired in scandal since its beginning. Here are some things you should know:
1) The Earth has been both much warmer and much colder in the distant past, long before the industrial age. Climate is indeed changing, but it has always changed and probably always will. These are obviously natural cycles that man does not and cannot control.
2) Global Warming alarmists have been caught in one lie after another. Huge scandals have been continuously revealed since the early 1980’s when the campaign began. Some of these are listed below:
3) Al Gore’s movie "An Inconvenient Truth" was full of bald faced lies. Like the Polar Bears were drowning, or the Ice Caps were melting, or the oceans were rising --- all lies. In fact a court of England ruled the movie was so flawed that it could not be shown to school children without a disclaimer.
4) The ClimateGate affair exposed the utter corruption of the Warmist community with their exposed emails speaking of how they intended to “hide the decline” and how to manipulate data and the peer-review process in their favor.
5) Then there is the fact that the globe isn’t even warming anymore and the small amount of warming experienced from the 1900’s to 2013 timeframe was negligible and well within the envelope of normal.
6) During this same period of marginal warming, scientists also noticed that other planets in our solar system were warming. What do these planets have in common ? --- the Sun.
7) Phil Jones, head of the Climatic Research Unit, the Guru and High Priest of Global Warming himself admitted there has been no statistically significant warming. If anyone on the planet would have been aware of statistically significant warming it would have been Phil Jones and he admitted there has been none. (Game Over)
8) Warmists like Al Gore refuse to engage in any formal debate on the issue. That’s because on the few occasions Warmist have debated openly, they lose, and they lose big. Lord Monckton utterly destroys them time and time again.
9) Al Gore and other Warmists have stated clearly that they want to make CO2 the object of a global tax. CO2 is the perfect object for their revenue purposes because you literally cannot live without making CO2, after all, we exhale it. And good science has revealed that no correlation exist to show CO2 drives warming. Demonizing CO2 is all about the tax dollars, and that’s all its about.

It is possible there is a tiny amount of warming that we can put down to man, but that would be beneficial, but most of it is political, trying get more control of our lives, I mean nobody believes carbon tax or cap and trade policies are going tp make the slightest difference to our climate.
If the U.S.A stopped all CO2 emissions right now, CO2 levels in our atmosphere to still continue to climb because the rest of the world especially the undeveloped countries are not going to stop for anyone, Russia doesn't believe in Global warming, China and India are building coal fired power stations as fast as they can.
The only thing you can believe the government says is when it says, "We will raise your taxes."

So in scientific detail it is as easy as this. Al Gore in his movie said that when CO2 goes up it drives the temperature up. This is the main tenet of the Warmists. He graphically displayed that to millions of his audience and this was accepted as fact. Taxes were collected on this basis and laws were enacted on this basis. Even 'Carbon Credits' were concocted based on this premise.
Now, in reality, what is the truth? Let us look at Mother Earth, the ultimate teller of truth. The CO2 level has gone up for the last ten years, a fact no one disagrees with. But at this same time the Earth's temperature has declined. This is data taken from databases of advocates of AGW.
