Ice ages, climate change, etc, works on a cycle. There are many causes for different cycles such as the changing orbit of the planet Earth around the Sun, temperature oscillations such as El Nino and La Nina, and so on. Currently, however, the warming we are experiencing is not due to one of these natural oscillations. Evidences, that deniers such as those that post about the charlatan Monckton ignore, show the planet to be warming, that warming being attributable to Greenhouse gases, most of the warming due to increases in CO2 concentration, and the increase in atmospheric CO2 being attributable to humans. The debate comes in when we start talking about the feedbacks related to a warming atmosphere and the consequences of that warming. It will take 1000's of years for the ice caps , namely those over Greenland and Antarctica, to melt. Sea level is increasing at a rate of 2mm or 3mm per year. You aren;t going to drown because of that. If you live in the shoreline of one of the areas of the world that is increasing in sea level though you may have to relocate in a decade or so. The destruction of the ozone layer and global warming are two different issues. the ozone layer is being reduced by CFCs while CO2. Global warming refers to increases in greenhouse gases, such as CO2 and methane, below the ozone layer. Though their paths do cross now and then they are regarded as two different issues. And yes, the ozone layer is recovering. Regarding notable sources I would stick to science journals or university textbooks.
It is a real threat but not likely a cycle!
Every major scientific entity in the world has confirmed a belief that humans are contributing to climate change and that global warming is a very real threat. Although many prefer to believe that global warming is just a liberal hoax, the science proves otherwise. What is less certain is what the actual effects of global warming will be over time.
