How do plate tectonics and ocean currents affect regional and global climate?

i need to identify and provide evidence for this HELP!!

The position of the continents determines the geometry of the oceans and therefore influences patterns of ocean circulation. The location of the seas are important in controlling the transfer of heat and moisture, and therefore, in determining global climate.

The Isthmus of Panama was formed 5 million years ago. It shut off direct mixing between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This affected the ocean dynamics of the Gulf Stream.

Mountains (as a result of plate tectonics) influence climate. They can cause precipitation.

The size of continents is important. Yearly temperature changes are lower in coastal areas than they are inland.

Study Salt Lake City. That used to be ocean bottom. With the rising of the mountain range between that area and the Pacific Ocean an obvious change did occur. That is a real climate change caused by plate tectonics.

Global warming ended in 2012 and all seasons have returned to normal naturally last yea 2012/ also the environment is in good shape, so Global climate is only controlled by nature. Mike

Very, very, very slowly.

Go with Cyclops, is answer is spot on, also the Himalaya mountains have created the yearly monsoon, which has a huge effect on most of Asia.

scientist better know
