Hmm yes I once planted 4000 mahogany trees, unfortunately a typhoon came and destroyed most of them, only 1075 survived. but yes every time I move house I usually plant a tree or two.

Even from my childhood i had special interest in planting and farming. So i have planted many numbers of saplings at location which i cant even remember.

I still remember my childhood where during rains i used to go to nearby forest and get whichever the plants i find and plant it nearby my house and most of times get scolded for irregularly keeping it :P

But i just could not stop. But after my college days i really missed it. But off late I am back at it :P

God bless you for planting a tree! I've planted dozens of trees in my lifetime. However, I used rainforest lumber (Brazilian Koa) for flooring, in addition to the American fir, oak, and other woods used for construction of my home. I think you could call it a wash, in my case. I make it a habit to prevent forest fires and wild fires, like Smokey tells me. We live together on this wonderful planet, and we should cultivate love and respect, above all things, if we want to live better lives. Militant environmentalism causes division and hatred.

I cut down a couple a year ago, but I did it in a humane manner.

I believe Global warming is a real problem and it needs to be addressed, but it's down to governments to get together and sort it out, what an individual does makes no measurable difference.

Nobody plants more trees than the lumber industry. Yet the greenies oppose them. They should be made out to be heroes. I have planted trees. Yet I have been called all sorts of vile names, scoffed at, and lied about by the greenies on this site. In fact, I am considered a second class citizen on this site and this was told to me officially by Y!A itself. So go plant your tree and puff up your chest, it won't do you or the earth a bit of good.

I, in conjunction with a conservation group, have planted 600.

This year, an oak tree took root in my garden all by itself. After it got four leaves on it, it quit growing. I spray it to keep leaf eating bugs off.
